This is very important, and the more you watch survivor the more you key in on narratives leading up to tribals and the surprises it leads to.
I've seen a few cast interviews where they mention that if Erika went to fire and lost, Heather would have been the winner.
I guess what also helped Erika is the fact that she didnt have to “betray” any of the jury to get to the finale or was the target at any time of the season that outlasted the jury so no one had any negative feelings toward her like they did Deshawn or Xander
RHAP suggesting that survivor editing pushed Xander looking great the whole season so they could knock him on his face on the finale.
Rob Has A Podcast https://robhasawebsite.com/ Former player Rob Cesternino has spun up a web and podcast network dedicated to Reality and other TV, with Survivor being their biggest content.
what purpose does that serve though, it's not like he was some big douche bag or something. maybe he rubbed production the wrong way
I think it was to set up a giant-slayer edit or something like that maybe? They obviously knew what happened prior to the premerge airing. Not like it’s a live season.
Someone explain why Fishback, when playing his advantage, used one vote for Abi and one vote for Joe. Not that it mattered since he was blindsided but still, what was his rationale?
I must be in the minority here but I thought this was a solid season. I thought it had a pretty solid cast, Ricard was a damn good player and should be welcomed back. Shan played too hard but was impressive as she did it and the others filled out the cast nicely. From my perspective, it was pretty clear that all of the players respected Erika’s game. Even going back to pre-merge she was being targeted. Hell, her team even considered throwing a challenge to vote her out. Editing definitely focused more on the flashier players but Erika seemed to be behind the scenes making moves but not pissing anyone off. While I don’t think she will be considered a top tier winner I think she did a great job Also it wasn’t overly surprising to me that Xander didn’t get any votes. He seemed overly cocky at times and I’m sure the rest of the cast felt that. He also seemed to be completely misreading the jury those last few tribals. I am willing to bet people never worried about his idol because he was never seen as a big threat. Editing skewed that a bit by giving him so much screen times He is young so none of this was surprising. Otherwise I thought the back half of the season was a lot better than the first half. Once all of the big twists and gimmicks happened there seemed to be very little idol/advantage talk. I generally like a more simple gameplay so it was nice to see it get back to that. I also really liked them reading the votes onsite and then doing an after show in the moment. Thought it was pretty cool to see the emotion and excitement.
They have been filming 2 seasons from the same location back to back for a while now. Same as last season - 26 days (plus the 14 days of quarantine). They’ll still stretch it into a full season of TV though.
The blindfold thing was pretty hilarious. As was the creepy love story between the girl who won’t shut up and twiggy.
Shizzlesticks is not the word that would coming out of my mouth if I am blindfolded and smack my head against a wooden post.
Holy shit Jonathan single handedly winning a competition that 2 other teams couldn’t even finish. What a fucking monster. He has no chance of winning
That was a great episode. Jonathan had the single greatest challenge performance in Survivor history. Daniel is toast. Also agree - so is Johnathan.
Unbelievable challenge from Jonathan but yeah he will have to go full ozzy and win every challenge after merge or he’s done
Both tribes should have gone to tribal and lost their flint after failing to complete the first half of a challenge that one person single-handedly completed with ease. So much of this cast just can’t keep their mouths shut about anything.
Ehhhhh. Jonathan was taller and stronger than everyone else on the island. It allowed him to keep his head above the waves. Imo there’s no shame for them being unable to finish that challenge. So much this.
I think you’re being an armchair survivor pretty hard here, but I would have been fine if they sent both to tribal with how “hardcore” they’ve made these new seasons.
I think the not keeping their mouths shut is more strategy than a mistake. Prevents accusations of hiding shit and trying to smoke out idols. Not saying it's good strategy, but that's what they're going for
Yes. I think his tribemates that make the merge w him will try to protect him for a while. But the second he can get voted out, he will. His social game seems pretty good too. He's the whole package
I'm a strong swimmer and above average with lung capacity allowing me to hold my breath better than most. But I'm 5' 7". And those waves would've eventually gassed me trying to handle that ladder. Aquaman killed it.
Jonathan is a the most dominating challenge player in history. Dude is ridiculous. I have no idea how that all turned on Swati so fast.
yeah she was awful. then in her eviction interview she talked about how she will be back and win survivor all stars. smfh
I have enjoyed this season much more than the last one. Really would love to see Jonathan just win out.
Pretty disappointed Mike said the sentence, I thought his idea of keeping it unknown from the other tribes was good. Jonathan slingshot god with two shots to save his dumpster tribe again. Gonna need some explanation on Channelle voting Mike, makes zero sense
i’m guessing she felt confident she was staying so voted mike to cause a rift between him and the other 2
i was under the impression they were obligated to say the phrase, and have felt like he was breaking the rules by not doing so.
