Been here since 2019. It’s cool because I’m from Florida and the mountains are pretty. Sucks because of homelessness, seems to be a shooting every day somewhere, military douches, worst drivers I’ve ever seen. Thinking about moving to the Denver area in the next year for work, but also might move back to Florida.
We miss Fort Collins a wholeee lot. Kind of like the other side of the world over here, although I love our access to Moab, Ouray, CB.
if my trial goes away, I will be heading out to car camp in Moab in April. If not, may head out there in May to kick off hiking season.
just signed up to volunteer for the High Lonesome 100, an ultra trail run. My friend who hiked the continental divide trail told me about it. Said he randomly came upon an aid station where people were making burgers, eating Uncle ramen, and drinking beer while feeding / hydrating the runners. Got a spot at that exact aid station. July 23. Cannot wait. Also, just came across this music festival for July 9. Buying tickets
also, if anyone has interest in seeing Umphrey's Mcgee at Red Rocks in June (Saturday show), let me know. I have 2 additional GA tickets that I will sell to you below face value.
I knew the moment they announced this taco tournament that Kike's would win. I miss the days of that truck being located at the liquor store parking lot at the Speer/Federal intersection.
Went to this pretty cool bar last night. It’s called Beacon in RINO. Def felt like the oldest guy in there tho.
Going to be in Longmont in 2 weeks for work. Any recommendations for places to eat around there? Also taking the fly rod and going to the South Platte and going to fish around the Longmont/Boulder area. I was looking at going around Hwy 7 out of Lyons, but I've heard that the road is closed off an on, anyone know what the deal is there?
Honestly if you're okay with good casual, I'd just grab something at The Source or Zeppelin Station. Lots of options between those two and you can walk right to Mission
Has anyone been to the hole in the wall Hayati? Been craving some Mediterranean food and from all accounts; it looks amazing
Yep. Dude is super chatty but he gave me free falafel for waiting. Super awesome story with him running that place. Food was great.
One of my favorite restaurants in Denver. Start there with fried chicken or soft shell crab, then walk a mile down Larimer to Meadowlark for 2nd course. 3rd course is right across the street in Denver Central Market. Dessert is High Point Creamery Cookies n Cream. Can't do it any better.
I’ve heard good things about redeemer in rino as well. portside in rino has my favorite breakfast sandwich in Denver (that I’m aware of)
I’m not sure what is going on with Hayati, but I have called every day this week with no answer and no online order option. Gonna have to just drive down there and see
How is Tavernetta? Also, where should I go to dinner within a relatively small radius of downtown (staying at the Brown Palace)?
