A&M might land both SOC CBs but it doesn’r qualify as a head to head victory for them because Texas was never a serious contender. Okay nice flex there Tex at Inside Texas
Why do they rank on this total points system? That can skew things incredibly based of the number of commits you have. Shouldn’t it be based off average?
Sounds like something a fan of a loser fanbase looking up at the mighty Red Raiders and the Hogs in the recruiting rankings would say!
I can't remember a school crushing Michigan in recruiting the way ND looks to be crushing us right now. Granted, we haven't really competed against the OSUs of the world much since Urban took over, but ND and UM seem to be recruiting off the same list this year, and ND seems to be leading for almost all the players we're both in on.
Freeman’s pivot back to the Northeast and Carolinas seems to put us heavily up against UM and Clemson Kelly (Polian) really loved Cali/West Coast kids and Indiana 3 stars. Should be interesting next couple months as it plays out
I imagine the NFL flirting is hurting things with this class as well as staff turnover but if Michigan has another good year it'll settle in.
Also Notre Dame seems to be targeting higher level kids than normal but it remains to be seen if they can close and keep them
Its a good year for catholic schools nationwide and the Midwest in general which helps. Ultimately Freeman seems to be chasing a different level of talent which is fine his roster is extremely stable, go hunt and if you miss ND will still be a 10 win team.
This. We seemingly aren’t having trouble getting to the top of kids’ lists. Getting them to pull the trigger and then not take visits after is the problem.
I think it's a combo of the NFL stuff completely shutting down the momentum off last season, as well as the massive turnover of HCs across the country at major programs where a bunch of schools are selling "new". And "new" almost always works in recruiting.
OUCH “The previous staff was great and we liked coach Mario Cristobal, but he's been known more as a run-first coach. Kyler wasn't really looking at Oregon heavily but the new offensive coordinator has come in and we're glad we've been out there a couple times now."
Lanning is new at Oregon, which means he and his coaches can say whatever they want and kids will believe them. Just like Mario is probably doing at Miami. Oregon's new OC was the OC at Florida State and Auburn the last three years. In those three seasons, his teams ran the ball 319 more times than they threw it. In the last three seasons under Mario, Oregon ran the ball 235 more times than they threw it. Kids are dumb and will believe anything you tell them.
Pretty interesting considering Julian Sayin seems to speak highly of us too. We seem to be getting back to Weis-level QB recruiting. Just hope the first two end up better than Clausen and Crist.
What I think makes it work in recruiting is that the coaches genuinely believe they're going to have this "new" offense.
Nice get for billy. Teach hugh freeze that there's a new sheriff in the sec https://247sports.com/player/tyree-patterson-46117042/
Doesn’t help that your Head Coach doesn’t want to be the Head Coach there and will bail at the first chance for the NFL.
He seems to be visiting every big school. He’s been to ND about ten times at this point…or so it seems. Will be a fun one to follow.
