Predictably the Nets went from “why is anyone scared of this team” to “Celtics and Nets are 2 of the 4 best teams in the playoffs.”
I never took the SAT, but I scored a 35 on the ACT in math. I also had to repeat a freshman math class in high school, where I got all the final numbers correct, but I didn't use the correct formulas. I figured an easier way. I think it was about geometry or triangles or something. So I got a zero on the test. I got brought in for to the principal's office for cheating. It was a thing.
also found out that the warriors dont have the level of shotmaking required to compete in a game against the celtics, nets, bucks, or suns
thankfully I don't have to subject myself to pods like this when I know i can get the best parts from the subreddit
Can’t wait to listen. Bill is going to be so smug even though it’s one game. Ryen is going to have to reign him in.
Bitching about Breen not being excited enough on the game winner. JFC Definite non Celtics fan Russillo dropping a “we” in regards to the Cs.
I had the podcast on to loud when they were talking about Kyrie telling the fan to suck his dick. Everyone in my hallway asked what I was listening too.
I kept waiting for him to walk back the “I’m not scared of the Nets” quotes from the last 2 weeks on this pod. Or at least come up with some stupid reason why he couldn’t have seen the Nets putting up a fight. Something dumb like “You know, i didn’t take into account the Boston crowd riling up Kyrie and him taking his game to another level.” Never even brought it up. How do you go weeks talking down the Nets then not even mention it when your team struggles to beat them at home?
i'm not really a fantasy football player so i never listened to the ringer fantasy nfl pod but their addition of solak and their content switching to nfl draft stuff during this offseason has been a revelation. it's my favorite ringer pod that doesn't have sean or chris.
Bill listed not knowing who the #1 pick is going to be as a reason the NFL draft will be boring this year
Why should he all of a sudden be terrified of the Nets? Because they almost won one game, but didn't? I guess this may come back to bite me, but I remain unworried about the Nets despite the close game. They will win a game or two I'm sure but I feel good about things.
I’m sure matchup/ratings determines the Celtics and nets getting more days off at the start of the series, but that’s a benefit to the nets.
Could be a benefit for both, if Bill is right about Robert Williams' progression. But he's the only one I've seen saying that he's that close to coming back. I am pretty skeptical that we see him in this series.
The hilarious thing about his Nets flip-flopping is that his original take was that it was going to be shitty for a team to get a high seed and have to face them
I just watched Heat for the first time a few weeks ago. Listening to the three-heat right now. This is my apex of Ringer consumption
"I am going to do this thing where I bring a ringer person on for 15 minutes to just cover their area of expertise. I am gonna call it 15 minutes or less." so... you mean like a normal podcast segment you've done for 10 years?
It's interesting he noted this draft doesn't have any "Lamar Jackson situations where you can argue" as being a big neg on this draft. This coming from the guy who hates advanced stats in baseball because "you can't argue anymore!" It's like he doesn't actually like the sports themselves and just likes the social interaction that comes from it.
Something tells me that “fuck you Red Sox loser” in the pre 00s from Jacko was not something Bill accepted. He was making nuanced arguments before advanced stats were in vogue.
yeah it's just too much when every single sports discussion is framed within the context of betting. NFL Draft talk isn't about what teams need it's about "______ is +540 to go number 2!" like who fucking cares? I'm sure FanDuel is giving them more money than any other sponsor but save that shit for the pod on the channel that's literally dedicated to gambling discussion.
Last week he said he was 10 and I was flabbergasted. What???? I like Durant but that is not even remotely close.
He's still fishing for another KD interview plus he's trying to establish a case where one day he can say KD was better than Bron
The KD vs Lebron debate sailed years ago once Lebron came back 3-1 against the Warriors. KD can be top 12-15 if he gets another Finals MVP but Lebron is etched at number 2.
Russillo and KOC clowning him for trying to say that there was a case for 2015-2020 being KDs era, was high comedy.
The NFL show podcast is such a hard listen. I don’t know why I do this to myself. Talking about Ben Macadoo hair is so dumb.
I don’t know either honestly. the only explanation is that I just started listening to podcasts in the last month and I am not an experienced content person.
I enjoy Kevin Clark. I don't mind Solak, even though he is super goofy. but my god is that rest of that feed bad.
1-3: MJ/Bron/Kareem in some order 4-10: Magic/Bird/Wilt/Russell/Shaq/Duncan/Hakeem in some order Durant is just outside that group above.
Why is the NBA the only sport where people obsess about all time rankings? How many top 10 lists for baseball have we seen on here?
I would guess because it's the sport where more than any other, one singular talent can completely take over and a team can ride that one person to a title. Outsized impact of one person means all time rankings become a bigger focus
That’s better. Mainly because of Kelly and Solak. But I find the host (don’t know his name) to be super aggro and awkwardly mean
That and the positional disparity in other sports is so much higher. Hard to compare a HOF pitcher and an all time great hitter, and say one is better than the other.
