Yeah, that’s BS. That’s just parents wanting their kid to be the star. I would let the league know. Parents deserve to be embarrassed by it
One thing I’ve noticed is that I learned almost nothing in school. Listening to podcasts has taught me more about the history of the world than school did. I shutter to think what’ll happen to schools now that they’ll learn even less. Guess they’ll use podcasts too.
the majority of my world history knowledge stems from one 7th grade history class. it was ridiculously comprehensive. Every 6 weeks we'd start a unit on a new country; England, Russia, China, France, etc. At the start of each class we'd have to greet the class mate next to us in the language of that particular country and then count to ten in the language as well. He'd give us a packet that we'd go through and makes notes on, etc. and on Friday's we'd play a version of Jeopardy about World History.
Bennie and the Debts: The average ticket price of a live show has increased from $131 in 2019 to $168 today for Elton John, from $208 to $227 for The Eagles, and from $70 to $118 for the aforementioned Billie Eilish, according to Pollstar.
Don Winslow announced he is retiring from writing books to focus on political videos. As someone who loves his books and thinks his resistance vids are cheesy af - this saddens me.
For reference, and because that thread is just generally a good time: https://www.the-mainboard.com/index...a-d-for-1-million.181759/page-7#post-16771265
the guy I share an office is a mega Disney Adult, When he’s not listening to his shit music or right wing radio, it’s Disney soundtracks of the rides or a Disney podcast. Any time he hears of a co-worker who’s going, he’ll print off a detailed itinerary that he has saved on his hard drive. It’s not a list of rides but more a list of things to check out like notable historical benches, walkways, etc. EDIT: Yes I know his printer is filthy, he's been on Medical leave since the new year
he'll tell anyone who'll listen that Disney is what's preventing him from murdering people I've brought him up in the Annoying/Cringey co-worker thread before. If I was in college, I'd base my thesis on him
The only Disney adult Ive encountered was a girl I had a summer flng with. She interned there in college, stayed friends with everyone in the program and had yearly reunions. She had a few vintage posters at her place and a little shrine with trinkets. The summer I met her she was saving up because that summer's reunion was at the Tokyo Disney instead of Florida. Imagine going to a foreign country specifically for Disneyland.
A good part of me thinks he really means it. He goes by the name Crazy Larry and he's always walking around whistling or singing goofy songs and saying goofy shit. I maintain he's doing this so people think he's silly so when he does or says something fucked up he can play the "Its just a joke, I'm Crazy Larry, wocka wocka wocka" card. He once sent an e-mail to the Director of our department telling her that she doesn't do anything except sit in her office or go to fake meetings, she didn't know how to react because it's "Crazy Larry"
I almost want to give her a pass since she at least has a connection to the actual park but upon review I'm still weirded out
I think the keeping in touch with those friends and having a reunion every year is not the worst thing for someone in their mid 20s. But it was more than that. Like every t shirt she wore to bed was a Disney one. Her phone case was Disney. She bought me 2 Disney shirts. ect. Just a random hook up I met at the Belmont-Sheffiled street festival that lasted 7 weeks or so. Then she went to Japan and we ghosted each other lol. Besides the Disney stuff, she was pretty normal and fun.
The Buzzfeed "what disney princess are you? whats the hottest disney prince? whats youre favorite disney song?" era was awful. People walking around the office, forcing those stupid quizzes on each other ....this has since been replaced by Marvel superfans
She called me a different prince's name every time we banged. Felt like royalty. Spoiler I just made that up
Knew a girl who became a Disney Princess at Disney Japan. Not sure how long she was there. Around the time of the earthquake/tsunami.
I know a lot of Disney adults. Used to work with them. Hazard of working at a ‘fun and quirky’ company. Disney Adult is always the answer to the question ‘what’s weirder?’ Except for maybe swifties.
Disney Adults never bothered me. Is it a little wierd to me? Yes. Guess everyone is a fan of something. I get obsessed with bands. Guess it’s kind of the same
I’m also perpetually mentally juvenile but least it’s like 14-15 and not 11-12. Like the difference between dick jokes and drawing Disney princesses in your spare time
My wife’s first college roommate drew Disney characters in her spare time. She’d never been to a party and freaked out the first time she went out to one. Was unbelievably immature to the point that it was to her extreme detriment. She did a Disney internship and was (and I’m sure still is) a Disney adult.
If you were as "obsessed" with a band as Disney adults are to Disney you'd have a restraining order by now
