3 is the most egregious. Misleading users is against the terms of service. Technically, sarcasm is a ban worthy offense.
I dont even know what's trying to be said here Joe Rogan cycles tim pool/alt right morons unable to understand censorship? but framing it as good?
California alone has an audit acknowledging $11b in unemployment fraud. You don’t have to trust Hall to get to some absurd numbers.
Cool. Today is “right wing media pushing ‘unemployment is a fraud that doesn’t help unemployed people and robs taxpayers’” day
The constant misuse of “free speech” triggers me so hard. Really wish someone like Elon Musk wouldn’t be out there parroting bad definitions to millions of idiots and putting the nail in the coffin of the true concept of free speech.
Also genuinely curious…does Twitter actually have a bot problem or does it have a “people like Elon Musk claiming it has a bot problem” problem.
I think that’s the Twitter general counsel who went on Rogan to explain why Twitter censored conservative publications leading up to the election
Twitter itself seems to disagree to some degree. It’s actually a very nuanced topic and delves deep into the world of ethical AI, but Twitter claims they have a pretty good handle on actual spam bots, and the problems they face are more along how they choose to ethically censor accounts (e.g. some bots are harmless and they feel as though they serve a purpose, many accounts that people claim are bots really aren’t…far more than you’d think, and AI models to filter spam bots tend to disproportionately affect foreign users - especially those with languages that use non-Roman characters, etc.)
Here are some statements Twitter has made on the “bot problem”. Whether or not we trust what they say is certainly up for debate. https://blog.twitter.com/en_us/topics/company/2020/bot-or-not https://blog.twitter.com/common-thread/en/topics/stories/2021/four-truths-about-bots
just based purely on my own personal experience, it doesn't seem to have nearly the bot problem that instagram does. no idea how the actual data backs that up though
The top 10 most interacted posts went from 90% far right to 60/40 left wing after all of the Russia sanctions. Russian bots were doing some very heavy lifting for Shapiro and the Don whatever guy. That said more than any press release Twitter had made imo.
Im not sure that’s strictly an uncontrollable bot run amok issue, so much as Twitter simply choosing not to take action on certain things for whatever reason. Seems like it was pretty easy for them to quickly comply with the sanctions, indicating that they have the capabilities to do so.
Oh I didn't mean it's not a problem they can't fix, just that it's a problem in general. I doubt they care much bc any interaction is good interaction for their numbers.
I guess my thought was spurred by the earlier argument that Twitter is somehow lacking in employee talent and could benefit from some AI experts from Tesla to come in and solve a problem they can’t. Which is obviously nonsense.
Yea that seems like bullshit. I guess one could argue that by taking it private it can be cleaned up and the drop in users/interaction won't tank the stock but that would require a new owner that's concerned with the ramifications of "free speech" and Musk ain't that.
No if you type "metamask" or "doge" or something similar into twitter, you'll get 10 instant replies with a virus link....people have lost big sums, it's a real problem
Last thing I'll say, but whatever you think about crypto enthusiasts alot of innocent people have gotten caught in those nets. The vets know not to click but newbs who heard about bitcoin on the news and first come to the space are very vulnerable. Could be your Dad or someone not super tech literate who heard about it on Cramer or something
Was always incredible to check the IP on the latest Farva alt account to see that it was shared with his previous 212 alt accounts.
The Penguin the Cuck thread is some of the more extreme crypto discourse on the board, wouldn't take that as indicative of the space. If actually interested, happy to discuss without the hyperbole. I think it's a megatrend for the next decade or so, people would be smart to be aware even if skeptical. JMO. Something tells me it was more of a rhetorical question though
Then why post lies? Why not make your argument from some foundation of fact, instead of a ridiculous, obviously false, outrageous claim? It was even pointed out how your original premise was obviously false, yet you just kept on repeating it. If your goal is to make a good point, then it should be based on reality.
