I’m not sure how well London pairs with Pitts. I’m biased, but Jamo seems like a much better fit. Was hoping for Ekwonu or Johnson tbh.
Can the kid get separation? All those HL they showed are incompletions in the nfl bc of the talent at CB. Trade his fucking ass
Ekwonu was the #1 OL on most lists I saw. Jamo #1 WR. It’s a weird draft, but it’s not a good pick on paper. Doesn’t mean he can’t pan out, though.
Disclaimer: I’m not a Falcons fan, but I follow the team and would like to see them do well. That pick was still deflating as fuck
It feels like just about every draft the Falcons front office thinks they know exactly how the picks will unfold, then 3-4 picks before their turn it goes slightly differently and they just absolutely lose their shit and just throw darts.
Rich McKay is running the best hustle in sports. Surround yourself with morons and keep your job by falling upwards.
I’m obviously biased but I think Drake London is a baller. But who cares what I think, or what any of us do tbh, the thesis behind the pick makes sense. I’m sure Fontenot is aware of the separation concerns and felt comfortable with his ability to do so. They could’ve gone with any WR there so clearly he believes in Drake. If he’s wrong, it’s his job. Big picture, a WR basically does nothing to help the team next year, which is great actually. Sacrifice for Bryce, then in 2023 you have a great young receiving corps and address other needs with our other picks and the shit ton of cap space the team will have next year.
I know nothing about this kid, but hope he’s good. Definitely concerned about his ability to separate based on the high lights, but I thought aj terrell was going to be terrible, so what the fuck do I know
At this point it has to be asked if they're fucking stupid not to have done that. Could've easily traded back and/or gotten Jordan Davis to help on defense. Instead of this guy they're hoping will get 120 touches in a season.
At first I was mad they've apparently made the executive decision to never even try and sack the quarterback again and didn't go DL. But then I remembered this is a franchise that has only drafted 4 first round DL in 20+ years: Jamaal Anderson, Peria Jerry, Takk McKinley and Vic Beasley. Maybe it's good they went WR.
The player himself was underwhelming, I don’t know if he will be good but picking him at 8 and just their tendency to take players way too high when they have a number of needs to fill is frustrating.
This is my stance as well. One of the "benefits" of having multiple areas of need should be that you don't need to panic and can find good value regardless of how the draft unfolds. The Falcons seem to consistently jump and take a player that they likely could've gotten later and that never seems to be the best available among the several areas of need we have. I really hope he turns into Jamarr Chase year 1, but this just feels familiar like the TD years
