You are a well run franchise who had two first round picks. If you find a way to be negative, you are just a miserable fan.
Two needs filled. Check. Trust in Veach and Andy until they give you a reason not to. The fact Karlaftis just turned 21 has me further intrigued. Seems like he’s going to be a well-rounded DE
we addressed two of our three most glaring needs and have two picks in a second round that has four reasonably good WR options to fill our other glaring need
It was a solid Day 1. I thought McDuffie was the #2 corner in the draft (do not like Stingley) so getting him at 21 is great value. Trade value wasn't the best but whatever. Was worth overspending to watch Bill do that crazy fucking shit at 29. I wasn't the biggest fan of Karlaftis in the process, but didn't hate him either. The value is good at 30 and I would guess Cullen knows a lot more about DL than I do. They are a better team now vs before it started, which some teams can't say the same. Brett did fine. Day 2 is what will make or break this class for him. This year was shit for first round talent and I think you could make an argument that they managed to walk out with two first round talents at the tail end of the day.
Saw this idea on Twitter and think it makes some sense: since the Chiefs know they are getting a compensatory third next year for the Bears hiring Poles, use pick 62 and 2023 third rounder to move up for the WR they like.
Not a Chiefs fan, but won this from a virtual conference and I’m about to sell it for $500. Could I get more or is that a good deal?
I’ll take it off your hands for the cost of shipping to be a nice guy. It’s a piece of garbage and you’re better off letting someone like myself deal with disposal.
The Chiefs actually traded Hill so your best bet is hoping a poster in this thread offers to pay S&H to take it off your hands.
The draft has been fine. Not exciting but not terrible. Hard to top 2021 with all the steals that we landed.
The big picks in last year's class (Bolton, Humphrey and Smith) were steals that were so bad that Veach should have been locked up. Not only that, you knew they would be contributing immediately. It's not a slight against this class. I think this class, along with the 2021 class, can be the foundation for another SB window. It's just hard to repeat what I considered to be 3 top 25 talents without a single first round pick.
One thing that sticks out with some of these picks is that they nearly have the pieces to run a 3-4 again. I feel they are going to flash more hybrid looks on Defense. Karlaftis would be your Sam Frank Clark would be the elephant rusher Nick Bolton at Mike Chenal would be your TED and you could let him run wild allover the fucking place Jones and Wharton at 5-tech Billings, Nnadi and Saunders rotating around at 0 and 5 depending on the situation
I love the commitment to the secondary in this drafts. Feels like a good chance at least one of these day 3 guys develops into a reliable starter given recent history at corner.
I think this guy is onto something with the signing a free agent edge rusher in the near future idea.
Get Kinnard working with some real trainers and that could become one scary dude to line up across from.
I think I realized pretty quick into the draft they would only be taking 1 edge, 1 receiver. It was a wild draft. But yeah I expect them to probably sign some DL tomorrow.
Bigger, stronger, and faster at 10/20 splits. Neat. Leo is quicker laterally, and Micah is a little more…bendy?
It's looking like the Chiefs will have at least a couple very good home games in the second half of the year. The home opener TNF game versus the Chargers is my only 'must attend' game for me so far. Bills would be fun, but I've seen them in each of the past couple years. A Rams or Broncos home game in early December would be fun.
