I’m still trying to figure out the width of the Herbert Phoenician so I can get it in the appropriate case.
I never ship in one touches. They bounce around even if it’s the correct size. Use a 240 point top loader imo
Ok. So what is the fastest way to do all those listings. I’ve got a few hundred cards I need to list and keep procrastinating which only makes the list grow.
This is what I don’t get. I buy almost all the cards I’ve got recently from eBay but I’m sure the sellers are paying more in fees than if they sold on myslabs. But when I search on myslabs, the prices are much higher. Any thoughts on why?
Looking at raw or slabbed? I’ve found better deals on myslabs than eBay for slabbed cards but not raw. You can also make offers, they are t set prices. If an offer has been made previously myslabs will show you that amount.
My guess is that sellers have their prices hiked up in hopes that people that get on MySlabs aren't doing their homework. They also have far less items on there so fewer cards means there is a smaller chance that the same card is also listed on the same platform for cheaper.
Who do we think are going to be the top rookies of the NFL to collect this year? With no top QB’s, DE(Hutch, Kayvon), CB(Stingley Jr, Sauce) or WR(London, Wilson, Olave, Williams)
WRs would be my guess. You could still probably take a flyer on the QBs for cheap and hope one pans out.
I think I'm going to load up on Jameson Williams. Local guy and WR prices usually aren't too crazy. Defensive guys i don't think hold much value. May be cool with lack of QBs, may be able to find some boxes at reasonable prices
Question, was looking at the Whatnot app and the live $1+ auctions. If you win like 10 cards in someone's stream, do you get charged the shipping/tax for each or they lump it together?
i have a few cards (nothing crazy, nothing expensive) that have tracking numbers but haven't been updated in almost a month. how should i proceed?
Peak covid I had a card missing in the mail I got on ebay for over a month. Seller refunded me and filed a claim with usps. Card showed up another month and a half later. I was honest and repaid him. Haven't had those types of problems recently (other than a card I bought from China that hasn't been updated in tracking for like a week...but figured that one would take some time)
last stupid question for you boys. if i'm buying a card, say under $20, and the seller has $5 shipping. is there anyway to get them to change that?
You can message the seller and ask them to invoice it with a lesser shipping cost. As long as you don't pay after you commit to buy they can change it.
Possibly. I think when someone charges a flat shipping theyre trying to pocket a little more $ to counteract eBay fees. A card in a bubble mailer should only be around $3.50 to send.
If the tracking only shows "label created" then the seller didn't actually ship it. If it has an origin scan then USPS has dropped the ball. It rarely happens with bubble mailer, first class tracking but I've had a few ebay standard envelope items get lost over the past few months. The good thing about buying on ebay is that you are covered, no matter what (unless tracking shows delivered). Sucks for the seller but either he or ebay will be on the hook for the item that USPS has lost.
Anything under $20 can theoretically be shipped for $0.93 in an ebay standard envelope so they're just looking to make some extra profit.. which is pretty unethical. If I buy a card and they charge $3+ for shipping then I expect that card to come in a First Class bubble mailer with tracking. It costs anywhere from $3.40-3.80 to ship First Class in a bubble mailer.
More hobby drama this week: kongscards and vahesportscards have been caught trimming cards - mainly Contenders Football Rookie Autos. Most were trimmed to where they didn't tip off PSA or BGS's size requirements so a lot have been graded. Sigh. The greed never ends with these people.
Ever since I started casually purchasing cards a few months back I've been mystified by the number of weird scumbags in the hobby.
Yeah. Cut the card to basically even out the edges so it's centered. It's something that's been going on for a while but it's more prevalent in older cards. Doing it to 2021 contenders is weird.
I assume the grading company would catch that. edit: just read the insta post above, so it looks like they did
on contenders design this year I would guess they trimmed them to get rid of the whiting on the edges. Terrible design this year. I looked at gem rates for 2021 contenders football compared to 2020 and it was like 12.3% for 2021 and 62.5% for 2020
Here's the BO thread on it https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/to...&share_fid=67012&share_type=t&link_source=app
Thanks to e-detectives these guys got caught. They trimmed non-numbered, paper stock cards. Saw a Kong IG story screenshot where he was looking to buy raw Herbert Contenders. Hmm wonder why. They would find cards with soft edges/corners and trim them off to achieve a high grade. Still surprised they weren't caught by grading companies though. PSA has certainly slapped some MinSizeQ grades on cards that I personally pulled out of the pack lol
