Only in a narrow sense. Designed to have a formidable visage and comparable firepower to the best western tanks, while making any and all other concessions to make it as cheap as possible. The result is a big, scary deadly hunk of scrap burning on the side of the road with a charbroiled crew inside. Russian machine is cheap piece of shit that works well until it doesn't. Some things absolutely never change
Ukraine isn’t killing Russian tanks with tanks, they’re killing them with ATGMs that completely neutralize the design advantages that Soviet/Russian tanks have over their American counterparts.
When it comes head to head it’s the better trained and more proficient crew that will win the majority of the time. Even when the quality of the equipment isn’t equal.
I would like to see more hole-in-one sunroof shots. Scouts from the 115th Brigade received a bird with a thermal imager and devices for dropping gifts directly on the heads of orcs. So now the guys will be able not only to highlight the enemy positions, but also to nightmare the Russians ;)
TB2’s are reportedly easy to spot on radar, in theory the Black Sea is covered by Rus AA defenses Rus forces are so inept
I can never see the bomb/missile leave the drone and hit the target. You just see an explosion. Is the drone shooting the missile or how does it strike?
Is there any chance that this general is working for the US? It's hard to believe we'd miss killing him so many times and that he would have left to Russia before the strike unless we allowed it.
Why is there an explosion in the middle of the screen and then a few seconds later you see the tank on fire and there's no crater in the ground where the initial explosion happened?
It shoots a missile but you generally won't see it launch (look angle, altitude changes, flight path) even on the unedited video, and these videos are edited.
Probably the shell was setup to explode a couple feet above the ground. Those are usually used to target people standing out in the open.
Total missile flight time likely. They spliced in video of the UAV taking off as well so it's not like they sent out uncut mission footage
Pretty sure they typically edit out the actual missile too; likely don't want to give the Russians (or anyone else interested in how these drones are used) any information on capabilities other than "yo dickheads: we can keep sinking your ships with our drones"
Interesting article. https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/a...=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=share "On one side were the Russians, who repeated a litany of falsehoods they had been told about their assault; on the other, the Ukrainians, wondering how their home could be decimated by aggressors driven by a fiction." Interesting way to interprupt the polling that goes on: "Right after the start of the invasion, research circulating among a small group of academics that I obtained showed that though nearly half of respondents in a nationally representative poll supported Putin’s “special operation,” the emotions they felt were shallow—hope and pride. By contrast, the fifth or so who opposed the war had much deeper feelings, citing shame, guilt, anger, and outrage. About a quarter said they had no strong opinions, or supported the war with reservations, but nevertheless said they felt sadness."
Don’t really need to. Missile is moving at about 1100 ft/s, frame rate is like 24frames/s so you’re unlikely to catch it on more than a frame or two
It reiterates how bad Russia is across the board. Equipment is garbage as is training as is logistics as is strategy as is…. Of course they are ahead of us in hypersonics. insert dr evil “riiiight” gif
i wonder if there are a bunch of retired generals and army people on russian twitter talking about how great their war machines are compared to alternatives
