I know Fulham was talked about buying Joe Gomez, though Neil Jones said Gomez wants to stay and fight for his place. But are the Khan’s about to spend big or something?
It is assumed that Neco is going to Fulham this summer, but you never know. He’s got the best RB in the world who is only a couple of years older in front of him and he’s too good to be a fill in. Lots of talk that once the Harvey Elliott case was settled that the front offices of Fulham and Liverpool get on very well, but there’s no guarantee that someone doesn’t come in with a better offer for Neco. The Gomez rumors are basically conjecture based on the aforementioned relationship plus the fact that CB is our most glaring need for next year, so we are rumored to be in the mix for all of them.
we need a #10 to replace Fab, one if not two CB’s, will likely get Areola back from West Ham at GK, and as much as it breaks my heart we need a better LB than Robinson. I’m happy with Kebano and Wilson on the wings plus Decordova-Reid backing up but we’ve also got Manor Solomon now who will probably start at LW over Neeskens. to me that’s all we need but I’m sure we’ll see a couple more come in. It’s a delicate mix between upgrading where needed and maintaining continuity. Last time up the front office actually did an incredible job filling holes considering they only had roughly 6 weeks of off-season due to the pandemic. As much crap as Tony gets from everyone including me, nearly every player brought in that season worked, and it was a good enough team to stay up. If not for some key tactical mistakes by Parker it would have. Likewise the guys brought in this year - Wilson, Chalobah, Neco, Gazzaniga before Rodak reclaimed his spot - have all been successful additions as well so I feel like the front office knows what they are doing.

The front offices between Fulham and Liverpool seem happy enough to deal with each other/annoyed that they had to show to tribunal stuff for Harvey Elliott. Liverpool did sell Harry Wilson to Fulham, and let Fulham defer any payment to this summer after Elliott left. The Gomez stuff was odd, because while Liverpool and Klopp would let him go if he wanted out, the price of him would be much larger than anything Fulham have paid, and the wages.
