eating properly prepared raw beef is amazing. eating raw ground beef from the grocery store is a great way to piss from your ass
I've read about that tiger meat shit on here many times before. Some people need to read every thread and remember it forever
I had a tableside preparation of raw ground beef, raw egg, and some other mix ins in France. It was pretty tasty. Wouldn't fuck with that in the US though.
I am assuming steak tartare is prepared in a way to minimize bacteria Ground beef is dangerous to eat raw because it is ground. Any bacteria on the outside is then mixed with the rest of the meat through that process. So, even cooking to a rare temp, it’s still not able to get the inside hot enough to kill bacteria a steak is safer to eat cooked to a cooler temp as the bacteria is on the outside is killed when cooked/seared all that said, biting into a cold ground beef sandwich sounds terrible
I was at a cookout at a friend’s house. He was making burgers and I caught him a few times snacking on raw hamburger meat. He blasted a group text out at like 3am apologizing and asking if anyone else got food poisoning. Nope just you bud! That being said I’ve had steak tartare in a restaurant. It’s good. But eating raw ground beef from like Publix is fucking deranged.
It's the same thing where I'm from...or I should say what you call steak tartare, the area where I'm from calls it tiger meat or goon burger. All synonyms.
that’s fair. When I read Tiger meat I think of the completely untreated/unseasoned raw meat and white onion sandwich that people in Wisconsin seem to enjoy
I'm not saying this is GOOD. But it's not on the same level as a lot of this thread. I assume it's salty as fuck and she's not using sodium free taco seasoning. But otherwise it's basically the filling for 50% of taco bell burritos and I know tmb ain't too good for tbell despite what you cunts will say.
My dad is trying to start eating vegetables/healthy. His idea of eating his veggies is mashed potatoes and corn. That’s 100% full calorie bad for you ranch dressing.
He’s not even fat but he did have high cholesterol at his last dr appointment so he’s trying to do better. His diet is basically the dream diet of any 6th grader. I do like how he at least tried to make a lattice out of the ranch dressing.
Ground beef is typically cooked past rare and not eaten raw because Ground beef is sent from slaughter houses in giant quantities and winds up being a mix of the meat from several different cuts from several different animals. Your chances of getting several old day meat or contaminated meat mixed in with good or fresher meat goes up as it is set out in the meat counter. A singular cut of meat is considered much safer because it’s cut from one animal and not a bunch of different cows’ meat and shaped into a ribeye. Raw beef is raw beef regardless of where it comes from on the animal, but you’re upping your odds when it’s meat from multiple animals. Yes, contaminated equipment will make any kind of food unsafe to eat but it isn’t the only reason ground beef isn’t typically eaten raw. A butcher that has contaminated grinders is probably going to cross contaminate your steaks.
