I agree but it fits that crowd probably. One of the earlier races today was sponsored by old forester.
Woodford is mass appeal bourbon. It’s an incredibly profitable market position. Eagle Rare, Blantons, etc…. nothing wrong with them. They trade complexity for a standard and predicable bourbon palate. A ribeye from Ruth’s Christ is still delicious. It’s just not wagyu at Chops.
Eagle Rare and Blantons are so much better and as goblue31602 would say “leather” isn’t the tasting notes. Heck, it makes me mad that United is regular Buffalo Trace and Delta is WR because I’m a Delta guy.
So this makes me think. Now that people ITT's tastes have evolved from when we were in college, what is your weapon of choice when tailgating/gameday?? If I'm watching a game in my apt I'll pour decent stuff neat but if I'm tailgating Crown and diet coke is still my guilty pleasure. I think I would die if I started drinking WFP at 8am for a 3pm kickoff.
I'm still mostly a beer guy for tailgating. Creature Comforts makes so many great lighter options. They're perfect for drinking all day. If I'm at home, I'm much more likely to get into the bourbon.
Depending on the restaurant, I've been starting to order tequila on the rocks with an orange slice instead of bourbon.
i tried to do a bottle of stagg jr before an MSU - Maryland game. I had to be carried out before halftime. Do not recommend. RalfBully Tug
#Georgia Bulldogs I'm flying to ATL and then driving to Athens for a night, from there I'm driving to Blue Ridge. Debating driving through Gainesville-->Dawsonville-->Elijay--> Blue Ridge vs taking 129 through cleveland/helen/commerce. I know there is a fairly decent liquor store in Elijay but anyone know of any good honeyholes along either route? Anywhere good in Athens?
just fyi, Appalachian beverage is superior to hilltop in Ellijay. Can’t speak to the rest of your trip.
Yeah that's where I stop whenever I go see the rents, they usually have a decent selection and not too marked up
Attention thread. I heard Leeroy Jenkins! was passing through ATL. On account of this, I have decided to fly to SW Florida for a few days. Please tag me when he’s left the state. TYFYS.
