Got it on the last attempt, and only chose the word out of no other options existing. In my head, I was sifting through the possibilities, and hit the stupid wall. “My last guess was ‘candy’, and none of the remaining letters make any sense. Surely, it isn’t ‘canny’, as in ‘can-ish’...To hell with it; give it a shot. Holy shit, that worked!” Never even registered, that it was uncanny without the -un prefix. Four decades of life, without ever encountering the word ‘canny’ on its own, or even having to ponder its existence. Oh well, Big Gulps, huh? Alright.
Not sure I had any other options for my third guess Edit: looks like only other option was carny and I honestly thought that was spelled carnie. One of those words I’ve heard but never seen written.
Btw, quordle was interesting this morning. Probably my first and last 2368… Daily Quordle 104 6️⃣2️⃣ 3️⃣8️⃣
As I log more and more days in Heardle, I find more often than not I get them in either 1 sec. or I never get them cause I've never heard the song and don't recognize the singers voice (if there is one in the clip). It's like the exact opposite of Wordle which I get almost exclusively in 3, 4, or 5 and occasionally 2.
WTF. I’ve only heard of uncanny. Was smug as fuck when i typed candy, only to stare at my phone like an idiot for about 5 seconds when it was incorrect.
Another 3 today: RAISE SPINE SHINE Got the feeling there's a nasty game around the corner - the last week or so of words has been pretty comfortable. Even CANNY was pretty stress free for some reason.
I think I’m developing “quordle brain” - thinking of the third and fourth most common words that will fit instead of the most common… It helps with quordle and their weird-ass words though. Spoiler RALPH, INGOT, AMITY, & COVET?!? Daily Quordle 105 5️⃣7️⃣ 4️⃣6️⃣
That was the one of those four that bothered me most. Is it slang for puke? Is it a proper name? Is there a third definition that I don’t know?
