At least before it was we have good prospects coming up, we'll have money to spend when they get here. Well all of a sudden the prospects pool doesn't look too great, it seems our spending has a cap and a lot was used this offseason and we are worse than ever. I'll have no faith in this team going forward with this staff in place. I bought into the hype and got fooled again. Sure this team will be better as season goes on, but this team will never be any good without massive changes
Lynn wrote some article today about how the Tigers need to trade some of their pitching to bring in depth. What exactly are our pitching arms going to bring in that can help on offense? Only one with decent trade value is Skubal. And before I forget. FUCK AVILA - day 3
I'm glad they raced to promote Parker Meadows and his .230/.288/.525 line at West Michigan because of his 9 extra base hits. He's tearing up the Eastern League: .162/.304/.189.
Clearly, but he was having some very moderate success with his swing change and instead of letting him keep growing with it at A they decided to promote him to where he was guaranteed to fail. He's still slightly underage for High A and 2 years before a average age for AA.
Derek Hill bunting with 1 out. matt Shepard “Hill does his job and moves the runner over” next batter makes an out and the inning is over. what a fucking clown.
Coolbaugh hit a cool .215 in the majors. While I'm not saying guys who sucked can't be good coaches, that's about what the team is hitting on the year.
Season is basically over on May 9th. 10 games out of first place. Would need to play .600 ball rest of season to have a chance to sniff the playoffs. I honestly thought this team would be good, and we’d be seeing crowds like we did in the early 2010’s at Comerica. Year 7 of the Avila era, and we are losing 90 games, after promoting all your top prospects you’ve been raving about for years, and dishing out $200 million in contracts this off-season. It’s quite clear that tanking gets you nowhere in baseball. It’s a built in excuse for an incompetent GM to keep his job.
Game 2, we’re facing a first career appearance starting pitcher with a 7.5 ERA in the minors this year. The bottom will have fallen out if we don’t win that game.
It'll end up being the best start of a short starting pitching career and he'll end up being a journeyman long reliever.
The worse thing that could happen is this team going on a winning streak. Even if Avila could somehow build a roster to make the playoffs, there is no way in hell he's good enough to acquire enough talent to win anything substantial.
Terrible defense. Also, scored two runs, each one was a sacrafice. Started with bases loaded and no outs.
