Alright, so we’re here (see previous post about HS trip) and this place is about three times more expensive than any of us expected. Any place near the stadium to get a bite to eat that won’t break the bank? Basically, I expected city prices but got airport prices. My hotel tried to charge me $15 for a bag of trail mix.
Youre in a tough position bc most of the restaurants in the “hotel district” have jacked up prices for folks expensing it on business trips.
shawnoc i guess maybe Park Bar or Hudson Grille. I wouldn’t recommend those places normally but they’re solid enough and not astronomically priced.
I was eyeing Meehan’s and my co-chaperone wanted to go to Views. Curfew for the kids is 11:30 but I woke up at 4 this morning.
I know this is OTP.. but saw an article saying this was best hot dog in Georgia. https://m.facebook.com/pages/category/Hot-Dog-Joint/Brandis-World-Famous-Hot-Dogs-101500498053/
It’s not that good. Chili is spicy relatively speaking which I guess makes it unique but otherwise it’s boiled pink hot dogs you can get at the grocery store.
So weird thing coming from the NYC area - the most affordable food in downtown Atlanta is inside the stadium. Being someone who is used to MetLife and Yankee Stadium prices, it was a pleasant surprise.
The pedicab flipping over and driver getting a dui story is absolutely hilarious. That company is gonna be sued to hell
Lots of good deals from Atlanta on Secret Flying lately. Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Brazil (Rio, Sao Paolo, Porto Alegre), Colombia, Ecuador, Montevideo, Santiago all for $200 - $300. Here's the one from yesterday. Link says $473, but if you click it, it says $278. https://www.secretflying.com/posts/atlanta-to-rio-de-janeiro-brazil-for-only-473-roundtrip/
It's a corporation owned by a billionaire family so there's caveats but all things considered I'm pretty proud to work for Cox
Yeah, especially if it’s nice. Try to reserve a table in the beer garden and have a drink in the library while you wait.
I got a reservation for 5. Would it be nuts to take my kids or should I just leave them at home? Just having dinner with some random friends of my wifes.
Scott Conent from Chopped is opening an Italian steakhouse in buckhead called the Americano. Saw an article and it looks amazing. There's one in Scottsdale and the reviews are really good. Grabbed a reservation there for my anniversary next month.
Food at bold monk was good not great. Everyone loved the beer though. Brought a bunch home. Going to be in town tonight for a putter fitting and have been craving a Mano... Closed Mondays!
Das BBQ on memorial is a great space. Brisket sucks tho. Rest of the bbq is pretty solid. Sausage is good, sides good too. Wood Chapple still probably the best BBQ around IMO. Fox Bros probably second tied with Heirloom
I’ve had Das delivered to the pool a couple times and agree the pork was way better than the brisket.
Das used to be better before covid, at least at they're Collier location. The best thing they had on the menu are smoked chicken wings when they've been available.
