We bought our house in South Austin back in 2019 for $550k and think we might be able to get close to double that now. Issue is, where the fuck do we move to?
I'm not moving out of this house until I find and can afford the "forever home." And depending on where I stand at that point as far as plans for family and kids go will determine what area I look at. I'd love to live in the 704 area and just buy one of those run down houses for an absurd amount of money and bulldoze it and build a custom home. It's going to be a very expensive endeavor but I don't see it happening for probably 7 years at which point I'd be 45 and hopefully married to someone with a good 2nd income
We've thought about adding another level to our house which would tack on 2 beds and another full bath plus den. Just not sure if that's a better use of our equity than buying another, larger house.
Enjoyed this. A lot of status chasing friends were posting ig stories at this event yesterday night Spoiler
Nothing concrete but seems like Pearl Jam and Stevie. Possibly Rage and Kendrick in play. No one knows for sure but seems like a good buzz going that it’s going to be a solid lineup.
Just looking at lineups of other big festivals that have been announced, it looks like a lot of good bands are out touring again, which was the entire problem with the 2021 lineup being "meh" to a lot of people (I still thought it was pretty good). Still no matter how good the lineup ends up being, there'll be swaths of people talking about how "watered down" the lineup is without putting in any effort to finding good acts in the middle-bottom of the card, solely because their favorite 5 people aren't headlining. Out of my circle of friends the ones have been making it very known that they are waiting on the lineup before getting tickets/going at all this year didn't even go to all 3 days of the festival last year and showed up the other two days at like 4-5pm.
tbh if we got hangout fest's exact lineup I'd be perfectly fine with it. something along those lines is what I'm expecting. And after dropping $300/ticket on Odesza, paying $250 for a 3-day festival in the city I live in is sounding like a deal regardless of who ends up on the card
Some folks believe Odesza will be on the ACL lineup since they sold out their own show so quick. I’m not buying it but can see it. I’m thinking we get something like Pearl Jam. Stevie. J Cole. NIN. Dua. EDM/Hip hop/Rap.
Reddit is saying it’s some mix of RHCP, Kacey, P!nk, Paramore, Flume, The Chicks, Lil Nas X, and 1-2 other big names. Not at all what I was thinking if true.
Pretty good compared to the last few years. I’m sure P!nk puts on a great show and RHCP killed it a few years ago
Wish I could’ve traded flume out for zhu at Coachella. Flume was a low energy snooze fest. He owes me for the extra curriculars I took prior to his set. I hope he has an entirely new set ready for y’all’s sake.
that's disappointing to hear. I don't know that I've ever seen Flume live but have at least 4 songs on playlists that are all pretty upbeat/dance type songs...
Just entered all my info on the wait list for weekend 1. Fingers crossed tickets come through at noon. Really looking forward to another weekend of being called “cool dad” as I walk my daughter around.
headliners are kind of eh for me, but I am probably not in their target market. weekend two looks lit. magdalena bay will kill it in a festival setting I think
Exactly how I and some in our group felt. Now I won’t look at those songs the same again. Plus the visuals were shit. I will say don’t sleep on sofi tukker. Saw them at a festival in March and they killed. Pure entertainers. Energy. Crowd interaction. Plus you end up knowing more songs than you think.
Well, shit. Weekend 1 already says only available tickets are GA. I got on the waitlist for other types about an hour before, but no response yet. Do the other tickets sell out that fast, or does it just take them that long to process wait list?
Was already committed to going as I’ve got a group of friends coming to visit for it. Got weekend two tickets.
