he has to be less confident than before because it's clear Loy expected Dante to commit publicly by now, but ND hasn't offered any other QBs so until they do, they believe they fully expect to land Dante when he's ready to decide
He's playing in a 7 on 7 tournament. He was never confirmed to be there that weekend. For the time being, his current teammates should come first.
i would love to have dante moore at nd. LOVE it. but i won't lose any sleep over it if/when someone drops a big bag on him.
I think the bags have been presented and he didn’t get what he thought he would, at this point taking time is probably good for us, it means no one has truly grabbed him. Yet.
All these beat writers heavily insinuating a spring commitment to ND now trying to revise their words is fun to watch.
This kinda feels like when you have a great date with a girl you meet for drinks on Hinge or Bumble or something then you text her the next day and you're waiting on a response (and waiting, and waiting) and work through it in your head: We are definitely going to go on another date, this is going so well. We are going to go on another date when things settle down, probably a busy day for her. I mean, I'm thinking it went well last night, should be in a good position for another date. Well, maybe there's other guys out there and she's taking a look at those guys, but I'd be surprised if we don't have another date. We could be going on another date, but you just never know sometimes. We're not going on another date.
UO has offered at least two QBs since Dante visited them. That includes Avery. They aren't feeling great, either.
Loy/Singer/D3 all have said ND leads for Dante after all these visits so far...it's clear he is a silent but wants to keep taking visits to up his NIL value sure it's possible one of these future visits could sway him from ND, but it hasn't so far and ND doesn't believe it will Not sure what else there is to say beyond this point
We are all worried that this is a Coming to America situation where the intent of his travels is not sincere. He says he wants to sow his royal oats but is he really looking for a wife?
Anna Hickey on the loss of Sullivan Absher to ND “Hiestand is just a boss. It's a tough out for competition.”
That list is short one as well given Steve Elmer’s decision to start a different lucrative career that wouldn’t turn his brains into mashed potatoes. Wonder if his story is going to get a retread with Harry back around and Hunter Biven in such a critical role.
Please nobody fact check the part about more CEOs than any school in America. It’s definitely true and I will take no follow up questions.
That is kinda nuts, though, that Robert Hainsey - someone we view as a really good, but not great or unbelievable recent ND OL product - would have been the 2nd highest drafted Clemson OL of the decade lol
Maybe he took this from 12 years ago and misread the headline? https://news.nd.edu/news/notre-dame-is-no-1-producer-of-ceos-at-top-financial-firms/
Prister's film room on Monroe Freeling...always a good sign for the Cliff's Notes - he's a really really good LT prospect my opinion, he's easily a top 50 guy in the class, maybe a 5* by the end of his senior season Spoiler If there’s any question as to whether 6-foot-7, 283-pound offensive line prospect Monroe Freeling can play left tackle on the next level, watch a couple of clips of the Mount Pleasant, S.C. standout on the basketball floor. Actually, observing the four-star, No. 80 composite player out of Oceanside Collegiate Academy on the football field should be enough. The basketball part of his prep career affirms what stands out about this unique prospect. This is a large, athletic, thirsting-for-contact prep player with an extremely high upside on the highest level of college football. First and foremost, he’s an athlete with sweet feet and a real desire to create havoc. Even this three-point stance screams athlete. You just don’t see players of his length and stature align in such an athletic stance, which is best exemplified when playing nose tackle in a four-point stance where he is the “lowest of the low” among players smaller in stature. Freeling’s three-point stance as a left tackle for Oceanside Collegiate Academy shows a nice lock-and-loaded lean that allows him to quickly engage in contact after the snap of the football. His physical dominance takes over from there. As a run blocker, he is equipped to drive his opponent into the next county, which he frequently does. Although built like a right tackle, his foot speed indicates left tackle. His run blocking is further along than his pass blocking. You’re not going to find too many true tackles that are better run blockers than Freeling. He physically dominates his opponents, although there are ample examples of Freeling squaring off against players vastly inferior size-wise. Freeling’s length plays exceptionally well on the high school level. His wingspan/reach is enormous, and yet he can sink his hips to get underneath blocks and flashes a consistent change of direction. His athleticism shows when he scrapes to the second level or when he doesn’t give in to an open-field juke by an opposing defensive back returning an interception. This is a kid who was born an athlete and happened to grow into major college offensive tackle size. His body control at his size is upper-percentile. If Freeling ends up at right tackle, it would be a result of not fine-tuning his pass protection. He has the physical tools to do it but has such an aggressive mindset that he can get a bit impatient and lunge. Freeling sometimes ends up on the ground unnecessarily because he is so dominant against his competition. Blocking a player to the ground and then falling on him accomplishes nothing, which cost him a personal foul on at least one occasion during his junior season. A second block downfield on a play is much more important than his pancake stat. This is a young man loaded with tools, including a college-ready body/frame. He is built for physical dominance with a unique level of mobility. Freeling recently (May 6) narrowed his choices down to seven – Notre Dame, Miami, Georgia, Clemson, Michigan, Florida and Ohio State. The first four on that list generally are considered the frontrunners, although there have been no Crystal Ball predictions on 247Sports’ No. 96 Class of 2023 prospect and No. 11 offensive tackle. While not having seen all the tackle prospects in the country, it’s difficult to imagine 10 offensive tackles with a better package of assets than Freeling. 2COMMENTS Irish commit Sam Pendleton (Pfafftown, N.C.) is more of an interior offensive lineman. Charles Jagusah (Rock Island, Ill.) ranks similarly to Freeling and likely projects at right tackle. Sullivan Absher (Belmont, N.C.) – who will be announcing his verbal commitment to Notre Dame, Clemson or N.C. State Friday, May 13 -- also moves well with power and would give the Irish options at multiple spots. The Irish could be in the midst of one of the finest offensive line hauls in the country if they can close the deal on the above-mentioned prospects with Freeling likely possessing the highest upside.
also, Loy thinks both him and Jagusah announce by the end of summer and both should be Irish too...assuming ND lands both guys w/ Absher, that might be the best oline class in the country. If they get another guy like Elijah Paige (who i love), i'm not sure how close the 2nd team will be
ehh some odd ball of Georgia, Bama, Texas, etc will clean up in the south as usual but thats an extremely good class on paper for ND- the third extremely good class in a row on the OL.
Give Coach D credit - I was giggling and rolling my eyes when he put up a post saying something like "How many commitments will ND get in April?" and the options were like 4, 5, 6, or 7. I thought he was way overblowing it, but between April and May we'll get James, Traore, Houston, Pendelton, Abscher, Limar, and it sounds like Moore could/should have been announced and still could shockingly announce on his bday I guess. He was just a few weeks early.
