Have we discussed Shrager saying Bryce Young was 5’9”? I know he’s not huge but that’s 3 or 4 inches off right?
He always seemed like 6 foot at least. His weight would worry more than his height if he stayed the same size.
Yeah that came out of nowhere, especially comparing him to Kyler. He's not a huge guy obviously but I wonder sometimes how Kyler even gets the ball over the line
Bryce Young is not 5'9. He was a shade taller than Kyler Murray measured at the combine (which I still can't believe tbh). The recruiting sites have all of this info. Those are legitimate measurements but he's definitely not 5'9 unless he shrunk. Definitely a short QB, but I would expect him to measure 5'10.5 to 5'11 for the NFL. This reeks of Shrager talking out of his ass. Kyler was in the 5'9.5 to 5'10 range in high school. There was speculation he used an inversion table or something like that to get over 5'10 at the combine. I'd be more interested in how much Young weighs. He was around 180 in high school. I'd imagine he'll check in somewhere like Russell Wilson did. 5'10.5 in 200 range with big hands.
I think Russ is considerably bigger than Bryce, especially in the weight department, but I guess we will see. He is a small guy. Arent these hs/college weight numbers just listed height and weights which can be whatever the player wants them to be? Or are they from an event where it was verified?
I think heights and weights have gotten a lot better the last 7-8 years due to all the camps these kids go to. Gone are the days of Lawrence Timmons, OLB, from FSU being listed as 6'3.5" 235 and at the combine he is 6'1"220.
who is this Tyler Parker guy in the opening segment? Didn't seem particularly funny at all and that southern accent was a put-off
He's one of my people. Writes bizarre and funny articles about the Thunder occasionally on the Ringer website
Visions of luka one day being caught by paparazzi with abs and possibly dressed like Alex Skarsgaard’s character from the Northman.
some of the recruiting ones are from events, at least for the top guys. I know his hand was around 9.75-10 inches. Wilson was around 205 at the combine, Kyler was actually a tad heavier iirc. Saw Russell shortly after he was drafted and he's not a big guy either, but carries some weight in his lower body. Also think he might've gotten a little bigger since then as well. But I do think that's the main question for Bryce, his height is what it is, but he's not 5'9. If I had to guess right now, Young is around 5'10.5 185-190. He'll need to be close to or over 200 by the time he weighs before the draft
Will Bill and Russillo do an emergency pod to spend an hour breaking down Tatum’s 4-19 shooting game like he has when Harden has a bad playoff game?
Bill's ability to weave the Celtics into everything still impresses me. Somehow the topic of Giannis's dominance turned into a history of Boston's playoff opponents
Embiid brought up the "fuck Jalen Green" comment again, seems like something that will stick with Simmons long term when it comes to NBA players
So stupid if you listen to context which it was said. However, very funny that the guy that always says "don't aggregate me" didn't have his guard up to get aggregated in about the worst way possible.
Also why would Bill be holding a grudge against Jalen Green of all people? NBA media culture sucks in general but it's very obvious that the players bitching about this particular thing didn't listen to it It's also hilarious that the players are fixated on this when shows like The Jump or whatever it's called now exist
The idea that Bill has enough influence to sway voting one way or the other is pretty funny too. He would love if it were true though
It would probably be a good idea for him to put out a public apology instead of playing the victim about it and doing the cringe “it just scares me where things are going when it comes to covering the NBA!”
there’s enough Boston Celtic homers in the national NBA media space, Bill’s influence isn’t even required not to mention Simmons doesn’t even watch regular season games anymore so his opinions are just lifted from what he hears Zach Lowe and Haralabob say
I knew who he was from the SI days but I looked him up to see where he was from Lol he currently works for the New England Comcast sports network
For as much shit as Bill used to give Kobe for large volume shooting nights in the playoffs he's awfully quiet when Tatum takes 29 shots and is 2-11 from 3
I haven’t watched a single nba game this season, but I didn’t need to to know that the Celtics aren’t winning shit with Tatum brown and smart is Tatum even good?
Tatum and Harden have almost identical shooting lines this postseason- Tatum 41.8/35.1/89.3 - Harden 40.3/36.2/89.3 and one guy is a top 5 player in the league who is taking 10 more shots a game with those pedestrian shooting numbers and the other guy is the sole reason his team is down 3-2 in their series according to the Sports Guy.
