someone needs to stop him, seriously. There’s a time and place for stuff but he’s going to be in a wheelchair like the dynamite kid by age 40
The thing Darby has going for him is he’s only like 155 pounds so those bumps don’t do the damage they normally would. But they have got to chill on trying to have an absurd spot/bump on every TV
Everything about Hook is perfectly done. The look, the demeanor, the music, the logo, the fluidity in the ring. He's a rookie but he's a natural and he's going to be massive.
I just noticed that Riho v Ruby Soho is Friday night on Rampage Predicting the worst ratings ever for Rampage this week
It’s also at 5:30. Ratings are going to be shit regardless, might as well dump the worst of it there.
Kinda wild thinking back that ROH's first year ended up having notable names (for the time) and a bunch of future notable names, though some much less notable than others. Not bad for a company whose first show with a publicized attendance was 475 at a community rec center. HOpefully we hear something in the coming months about an ROH weekly show and a streaming deal for that library AJ Styles Brian Danielson Samoa Joe CM Punk Eddy Guerrero Konnan Jay and Mark Briscoe Christopher Daniels Jerry Lynn Jay Lethal (then known as Hydro) Low Ki Colt Cabana Hernandez Mickie James (then known as Alexis Laree Abdullah the Butcher Super Crazy Brian Kendrick (then known as Spanky) Mikey Whipwreck Masato Tanaka Shinjiro Otani Michael Shane Steve Corino Homicide Paul London Little Guido Tony Mamaluke Dick Togo
Cody helps start AEW. Cody quits AEW bc he’s a mid carder and the roster has passed him by. Cody’s dream of being a WWE main eventer happens. WWE dies a slow death (ratings wise) by shoving Cody down our throat as a main eventer. AEW catches fire and passes WWE in the ratings because of it. Cody inadvertently accomplishes his dream of helping AEW become #1 by defeating the Cody led WWE. This is a damn fever dream.
Maybe that Cody’s plan? Bring the E down from the inside? He out here playing chess while Vince is playing checkers
The old business model of PPV (PREMIUM LIVE EVENT) being the special attractions to wrap up a month of storylines may go by the wayside outside of big huge ones like Wrestlemania because the real money is in TV now even though your customer isn’t actively paying you for it, it’s the biggest cash cow they have in TV rights.
I don't understand this Hikaru Shida is injured deal. She's wrestled in four matches since the street fight AEW is claiming she was injured in, and one of those matches lasted 105 minutes.
Wait, is Cody Rhodes really the top face in WWE now? lol https://www.cagesideseats.com/wwe/2...ley-edge-judgment-day-mcintyre-deville-morgan
He was the top babyface in the biz for a little bit in AEW too. Time will tell how well it holds up. Cody is a likeable guy.
My dad still occasionally brings up the show we went to in Detroit when Balls Mahoney got put through a flaming table.
A fight broke out at an IWE Pro-wrestling show earlier tonight. The promotion runs shows in the Augusta, GA area. There is video posted on Twitter by user @CanBeOnly1Leage of what appears to be wrestler Joe Black playing up his heel character around ringside before a fan gets up and headbutts him. Black retaliated and security and referees were out to break things up. The brawl continued and it was chaos. You can hear someone say to throw the fan out of the building. The fan was said to not be a plant and the incident was 100 percent legitimate and there was a young fan who was really shaken up about what she saw. No word yet on if any charges were filed. You can see the footage below.
Holy shit. That dude needs to be arrested. He fucking head butted dude for no reason. You paid money to sit in the crowd and watch, if you’re so sensitive that someone talking about you in character makes you lash out like that then maybe you shouldn’t go to events like this. Also, clearly doesn’t understand what a heels role is.
I agree with all of this. But I don’t think the head butt was for no reason. It looks like the wrestler flips his hat off, and that’s the initial contact. No doubt the fan was a raging redneck who was looking for a fight, but fans nor wrestlers should be putting their hands on each other in a combative way.
agreed. Really shouldn’t touch the crowd members property or anything, but I’ve seen people have the same or more done to them at local indie shows and never react like that. It’s cheap heat in most cases and usually people understand the situation and aren’t some drunk redneck who clearly just thought he was tough shit.
I love MJF, this free agency thing may become the closest thing to CM Punk’s 2011 run where he was leaving if they keep working it
I’ve read MJF has two years left on his contract. Seems like a total non story until about 18 months from now.
MJF apparently doesn't want to add years beyond 2024 (when his current deal ends) and TK wont give him a pay bump unless he does. I agree with you, this feels like a total work... If I'm TK I just bump his pay, why risk a pissed off elite talent walking because you tried to play hardball.
Biggest company, biggest audience, biggest payday... yeah just about everyone who has ever wrestled would want a shot in WWE I would imagine.
like I get guys that have already got paid and want creative freedom like Mox and Jericho but for the young guys…get paid even if you have to do skits like shave each other’s backs
