Cannot wait. The expectations are unfairly high for him but I am beyond excited. gonna be a MAAD City morning over here now
I think he’s just breathing in and out 3 times This is like when people said he wouldn’t do a The Heart Part V because the heart only has 4 chambers
idk I feel like this whole rap genius era of fans tends to look for meaning in every little thing like every rap verse needs to be annotated like it’s a chapter in House of Leaves I took at as him taking a couple of deep breaths before talking about the death of a friend. Sometimes with Kendrick we tend to get too academic with everything and the human element of his music gets lost I could be wrong, likely we won’t ever know
Idk man I’ve seen the “4 chambers of the heart” response on Twitter about 100 times this morning in an effort to say “it’s not that deep”. Sometimes it is t that deep but with Kendrick, a lot of the times it is. I guess a rap genius nerd
Imagine being an old ass bitch like Clown Baby who thinks rap music died with Pastor Troy and doesn’t give Dot a minute
From what I’m gathering Marvin Gaye’s estate charges 6 figures to clear his samples. Kendrick got a sample cleared for a song that won’t even be on his album.
The extra space through the thighs signifies the space Kendrick has carved out in the rap industry to pursue an album that is not comprised by the interests of others
Does it drop at midnight? It so I want a full page of hidden meanings to read when I wake up tomorrow
Count Me Out and Crown are my favorites right now. Disc 1 was enjoyable, on disc 2 now. Spoiler * Fucking Silent Hill's intro ** lots of different sounds, it'll take me another listen to feel something
i'm giving it a superficial listen tonight as i do things around the apartment but i really like it so far. feels even more accessible than his earlier projects.
Disc 2 is where it's at. Mirror ain't even rap that's mostly an R&B song and it's awesome. Gimme a Kendrick R&B album NOW!
Man I kinda feel like if you guys like this you need to give the We Are Jon Batiste album a shot. "We Are" and "Boy Hood" are incredible. I know it's a different genre and on Colbert he comes off as a really awkward guy, but he's got some great songs on there.
