Listen, if you think you are being cucked right now just imagine me at 14 years old when the nordiques went to colorado and immediately won a Stanley cup. No wonder I have a weird relationship with hockey.
Brutal for the Caps, had leads in 5 of the 6 games and didn't allow a PP goal. Had a recipe for an upset and let it slip away.
Only one other time a series went at least 6 and the winning team didn’t score a PPG. Boston or something like 10 years ago. I heard it mentioned quick so could be wrong.
Had a breakaway and kinda easy ENG in game 4 then 6 on 5 goal then lose in OT 3 goal lead game 5 Gave up that awful 2nd goal tonight Panthers deserved to win but still blew it. Shit happens
Also after having like 8 or 9 straight playoff OT losses dating back to 97 the panthers have won 3 in a row going back to Lomberg vs Tampa last year.
I remember Boston's cup team had a shitty PP in the playoffs so wouldn't surprise me if it was them. Congrats to you and CF3234. Obviously we hate each other's franchises, but you guys had to put up with a ton of shit. Hopefully the last two years leads to more support down there like the Lightning have built down here with theirs(though obviously without the banners the Lightning have).
(But fuck you if you win tomorrow) I’ve always said the tipping point was a series win. Good regular seasons and division titles were great stories but weren’t going to maintain momentum with first round exits. This is different but if they play Tampa and lose again it would shoot a lot of momentum back down. Lose to Toronto and I feel the backlash isn’t as strong but still disappointing. but they had to win a series and I’m still processing that it happened
Game 7 being at 7 on Sunday doesn’t make any sense esp when there are max two games that day, put that shit on early afternoon
I hate playoff matinee games Both leagues seem to like them though, imagine Mil-Bos will be like a 3:30 game
It’s amazing that the panthers hadn’t won a series the past 5 years with the core that they have all in their prime.
Not much depth until now. Last year would have been a good year to start but just ran into an ok-ish team in round 1
I can’t explain it but that guy behind in the crowd behind the net with the #Bang sign is annoying me
If you aggressively round down from the date Atlanta was granted a franchise to the move to Winnipeg being official (6/25/97-5/31/11).
It's way over twice then. The last time they won a play off series the Whalers still existed and the original Jets had (barely) just left Winnipeg.
The guy who makes the Sportsnet highlight packs on youtube is consistently drunk and/or lazy. - The first five minutes of the game routinely take up 30% of the video. - Randomly cutting away from clips right when a player is on a break or about to tee up a wide open shot. - Sometimes showing no replays for goals but two replays for a somewhat routine save. - Occasionally not showing goals “live” and cutting straight to the replay. Leaving overseas fans out to dry. I will be henceforth taking my talents to the NHL youtube page highlight videos.
So is the expectation that round two starts Monday, or are we looking at Tuesday? Let’s get the Avs and Blues out there ASAP.
