I think Tatum is good and can be great, but this is still really fun. Also, really glad it was Smart who down the stretch cost the Cs last night. Anxiously await the next Pod
gonna start with Suns/Mavs, then Sixers/Heat, then Ja Ewing Theory, and spend 10 minutes on the Celtics
Bill, 3 weeks ago: They're not afraid anymore, especially Tatum. Bill tomorrow: Like I was telling my dad at the game, this team has some real flaws and I've been saying it all year
he's taken a huge leap this season into legit superstar status imo. Giannis is FAR better though. Personally I think the Celtics biggest issue, by a landslide, of those three is Smart. He's been a tad better this year but last night is a great reminder of who he truly is. With Smart, I don't know that there is a bigger gap between what the fanbase/Celtics talking heads think about the value of a player and what everyone else thinks of that player. That gap on him may be the biggest on any player in sports and it has been that way for 5 years or so now. He's nothing more than a role player… a nice role player but a role player. "Marcus Smart doing Marcus Smart things" usually entails him doing something shitty or stupid, and his style of play is not enjoyable or effective.
I think Tatum is more of a Paul George level star than a Durant/Kawhi but this is a pretty weak playoff field so maybe he'll steal one the way Bill talks about this series is like its fucking Lakers/Kings 2002 where we'll remember it in 20 years when in reality we won't be talking about this in 6 months. Major moral victory energy gushing over Giannis and saying how advanced the level of defense/play is, if Middleton was healthy this would be Bucks in 5. He sounds like a woman saying she's fat fishing for compliments when he tells whoever is on "I think the Bucks/Celtics/Suns are in that top tier all alone!" knowing none of his ass kissing lackeys will ever push back. The way he totally no-sold Tjarks saying "Imagine if Giannis had a game like Tatum in game 3!" was like prime Hulk Hogan in the 80s
Smart is the guy who is normally good to real good and does things that help a team win But there are times at big moments he forgets he is Marcus Smart playing with a couple guys who are better than him
I don't listen to any of this anymore but this got RT into my timeline. So ridiculous, almost everyone on this stupid amatuer site picked 7 games.
Ryen Russillo being considered an expert on anything is the greatest con since Geraldo and Al Capone’s vault.
Haven't listened to Bill in 6+ months and haven't regretted it yet. There are like a million podcasts out there you don't need to do this to yourselves guys!
I stopped listening to him awhile ago because I couldn't stand him anymore but love to hate follow him vicariously
I just had a meeting with a former EP of a bunch of 30 for 30s. It took everything I had to not ask about the sports guy.
if Kendrick Perkins being out 1 game in 2010 means the title has an asterisk, no Middleton all series means no banner for Boston by their standards
How many "______ Game" 's exist for anybody's team here? Do people actually call them that or recall them like that? I guess if you said "The Vince Young Game" to me I'd know what you're talking about but still
Don't forget that you can use "Game", "Piece", and "Thing" interchangeably to expand your options here
I remember specific names/moments but if you asked me which game the Matt Stairs home run killed my spirits in the playoffs I wouldn't be able to say.
Yeah there was the Matt Adams game in the playoffs where you had the Kershaw staying in too long thing with the excessive heat piece and the Roberts piece
she’s not connected to the Ringer, more of a call-back to Bill and Sal joking about her all season on guess the lines. Think Bill was the first in media to speculate she got suspended for going on the View and playing their token fascist.
