Circa 2009 in my college days I was in a Pizza Hut after work and the lady in front of me was just berating the poor counter worker over a longer than promised wait or something she thought was incorrect. Turns out the lady’s kid didn’t order what the lady thought or said 10 minutes when Pizza Hut told him 45. Anyway. I’d been working getting yelled at by customers all day and just lost my shit telling her to back off and whatever. When I walked out she followed me and I made sure I did not hold the door and she walked smack into the door. She took a picture of my plates or wrote it down or whatever and about a half hour my dad called. The car was in his name. She called the police to file assault charges and sent them to my apartment. Nothing ever came of it once the cops left. That video reminded me of that incident.
I really need restaurant workers to be treated like police where they can assault people, get fired, then go to Taco Bell for a job. Shitty customers need to know they can get slapped more and this shit would slow down.
I was hoping for someone to tackle or lay that guy out when he was threatening with the pepper spray.
"Sir, you can't threaten people in here with pepper spray" "Yes, I can. You're not a cop, you're not a lawyer".
“She can give the child to a loving family member or to someone else” Conservatives always bring up adoption as though it’s that simple and as though this country’s social/child services system is actually functional. There’s a reason why Americans adopt children from China and not from the US.
We all know pro-choice means pro-birth for Republicans. They don’t give a shit what happens to the baby after it’s born.
“Maybe as a society that forced that child to be born we should help provide a decent life” Republicans:
I’m not saying that adoptions are not done in the US, but the system is underfunded and overloaded as is. Now I’m not familiar with the system in Arkansas, but I am familiar with the system in NY and with cross state adoptions and those 2 systems are terrible. The ineffectiveness is not the employees fault, the social workers that I dealt with in NY were incredible, but the system itself is broken and the people who can fix it, politicians, will never do anything to make it better.
I agree with everything you are saying and the system doesn’t get anything near the attention that it should get. There is no incentive to be a caseworker bc the pay is shit and the work is incredibly difficult. It’s a really sad state of affairs. If the child welfare system fails, it negatively affects every part of society.
I mean, I know when I watch a video posted in this thread that I will see entitled people who think they can act with impunity regardless of their behavior. But every time I do, I still find it incredible to see just how far off the rails these people are today.
