Found this: As with his original contract, signed in December 2019, Allen would owe IU 100% of all remaining guaranteed income between now and the end of the current contract year, which runs through Nov. 30. The substantial raise built into Allen’s new deal increases that 100% commitment from $27.7 million to $34.3 million. As with his original deal, that number would drop for Allen from 100% to 50% from Dec. 1, 2021-Nov. 30, 2022. From there, IU’s protection improves slightly on the old deal. Under the previous arrangement, Allen would owe Indiana $1 million if he wanted to leave his contract from Dec. 1, 2022-Nov. 30, 2024. Now, he’d owe $4 million between Dec. 1, 2022-Nov. 30, 2023, and $3 million for the year after that.
Pat Fitzgerald in the top 20 is odd. He’s in his 17th season at Northwestern and won the Big Ten West in two of the last four seasons.
Frost is a Husker and that means something. Alberts seems content to give him plenty of time Babers is probably under the most pressure to win this year
Jeff Scott isn't on the hot seat. No way he is fired after this year and that comes from my best friend who is on their Board of Trustees.
I didn’t know that coaches hot seat site is still around. I remember reading it like 10+ years ago and the guy had a blog section and was a total lunatic.
This was my first thought as well, but his on field results have been decent for ASU. Guess you'd need a separate category for guys that could get the ax at any moment if the NCAA decides to hammer you. My other thought was... So like half of all the black coaches in America are on the hot seat, huh?
Outside of Herm, who should absolutely be on this list, how many black head coaches aren’t on this list?
Being the coach at texas seems awesome you either are the one that gets them “back” or you’re paid a ton for the last 3 years of your contract after you get fired
If necessary? In fairness, whoever took that job was doomed to fail. Collins made some coin and should settle in to a very good DC job somewhere.
They really don’t need to fire him to be honest. No one wants that job with how uga is recruiting right now. He seems to be recruiting better tho. Had landed some decent transfers. They might only win 2 games though
Never said they would, but they could occasionally snag a player or two if they recruited like they did under richt. GT should have never recruited as poorly as they did but that triple option system set them back a decade. still think there is enough talent around Atlanta to not be bottom tier acc
Beyond the guys that were hired this year (Stan Drayton, Jeff Elliot, Marcus Freeman, Jay Norvell), you got James Franklin (PSU, year 9) Mike Locksley (Maryland, year 4) Thomas Hammock (NIU, year 4) Mel Tucker (MSU, year 3) Charles Huff (Marshall, year 2)
GT can do better than Geoff Collins. Will they is another question. But its clear they need to move on from him. His gimmicks were Butch Jones esque. Would be fun to see him as a DC in the SEC again now that the offenses have all gotten modernized.
Lol Pat Fitzgerald is more ironclad at NU than Saban is at Bama. He’s going nowhere Satterfield should be much much higher IMO. Doesn’t even have to have a bad season per se, with Brohm hovering around. Must beat UK and soundly, don’t see that happening with Levis back
Didn’t think it was possible for a coach to be more cringe than Butch Jones until Collins came along. YIKES How dumb does their OL coach who left bama for GT feel right now?
saban is very good at getting his coaches he wants to fire another job somewhere. Enos, gattis, pease, tosh, etc
Good ol Karl bought himself at least 1 more, maybe 2 more years with close to full new staff. New OC, WRs, QBs, OL, DL,DBs. But the university won't do anything to actually help, like making it easier to bring in portal kids or giving a shit about NIL. We did finally get a new President, now we just need a new AD and less of the academic side thinking we're fucking Harvard.
