2 straight wins and not one 3rd set. OKAY BIBI I would love to see her beat Martic and get Swiatek in the next round. Would be a great litmus test.
My personal opinion is that she won't win another major and her playing days are going downhill quick HOWEVER, she is going to be a massive trailblazers for womens sports.
Perhaps. I'm not so quick to count her out. Only 24, generational talent, and still has won 2 of the last 6 slams. No reason she can't find her top level again.
I really don’t find anything endearing about Stan and against Djoker is the absolute only time I think I’d cheer for him to win. They both generally anger me so I’ll probably skip this one.
Bibi wins another 2 set match. I got to look through the numbers and see when is the last time she won 3 straight 2 set matches
Last time she won 3 straight matches without going to a 3rd set: 2019 US Open Rounds 1-3. Beating Volynets/Flipkens/Wozniacki
Great win for Shapo. French Open starts in 10 days, how quickly can Rafa get his foot calmed down again?
Iga hit a ball down the line in the corner, Bibi let’s it go. Line judge called it out, and it looked out live. Chair came down and pointed at a random mark, said it was in. Andreescu wanted to challenge but there’s no challenge. Assumed they would replay the point, chair said no, it’s Iga’s point because the out call didn’t disrupt Bibi. TC shows the Hawkeye spot of the ball right after and it’s clearly out. Point at 1-1 going the other way flipped the TB
Yeah I saw the point and then the chair looking at the spot. Thats unfortunate. Bibi mentally fried right now
This chair is a fucking disaster. Just made the same mistake to Iga now, and reversed an out call while saying “I may be wrong but I think it was this mark.”
Wow. Epic indeed. Sorry, I'm going to need a lot more convincing that she's top shelf. I still think she's ranked way too high on the back of a strong US run last year.
Ive been betting and following more Challenger tennis lately. 17 year from Croatia, Mili Poljicak, had 3 total points before the tournament in Zagreb. Got a wild card and has made the finals. Was #1416 before this week and if he loses he will jump to #549, if he wins jumps to #441. Pretty cool
Iga just destroys Sabalenka 2 and 1. Sabalenka only hit 2 double faults but also only won 29% (!) of first serve points
We get the womens match we didn't know we needed but its what we deserve. Swiatek/Jabeur 27 match win streak for Swiatek. 11 match win streak for Jabeur Get your fucking popcorn ready
I just watched what was maybe one of the lonest games Ive ever watched. Had massive amount on Money on De Minaur to hold serve. De Minaur saved 6 break points. 8 deuces. When you have money on it, felt like WAY more deuces. But De Minaur still has 0 offensive game.
Rafa-Djokovic is a potential QF match. Djokovic, Alcaraz, Rafa, Zverev ALL in the top half. Holy shit
Going to post my fire matchups Felix got a hell of an easy draw to the round of 16 where he’d get nadal Zverev/Baez round 2 amazing Kokkinakis/Ramos winner gets Alcaraz Shapo getting Rune is maybe the worst luck for him Tsitsipas/Muserti round 1 Garin/Paul Medvedev gets a clay court specialist in Bagnis
Jabeur/Linette Bibi/Bencic Round 2. Winner might get Leylah in the 3rd Osaka/Anisimova. 3rd round matchup vs Sakkari Kontaveif/Tomljanoci Kanepi/Mugu Vika/Bogdan
