Their left wing seems to suck. Attack and look to pass to the center. I'd there's a rebound, redirect to the defense for a slap

Their right wing…leaving their left side totally exposed so that’s why you see all the luck movement down the left side. Kid knows how to coach. So he’s showing how our left wing is scoring the goals.

his dad is a right wing :(

No our left wing is awesome in the drawing. The black lines is the puck moving mostly towards their net right up the left side.

Levi got sick af exactly 2.5 hours into a 5 hour drive. We were also on a CR in the middle of nowhere, 20 minutes each direction from a town.

Literally pooled vomit in car seat and truck seat beneath when I pulled him out. We spent 30 minutes and an entire bag of wipes trying to clean up. And drove for 2.5 hours with the smell of curdled milk vomit.

He was 100% fine the minute before and 1 minute after I got his clothes stripped off (he hates being dirty). We are chalking this one up to a bad yogurt pouch.

Just got to my parent’s place, unloaded the truck, and spent an additional 20 minutes trying to clean the car seat with a hose and clean off the truck seats. This is fun!

We won our baseball championship game the other night. Regular season and tournament champs means two trophies (lol participation snowflakes).

My kid walks back to the car with a trophy in each hand and big times me. “Dad, can you open my door? My hands are full of trophies.”

    Well played, jackwagon.

My heart is hurting today, fellow Dads.

After being told our 6-year-old had a chance to make T-ball all-stars, we found out yesterday he didn't. Mom and I are taking it much harder than he is, in fact he doesn't even know. It breaks my heart for two reasons: 1) he loves baseball and would've been overjoyed to be part of a new team and continue playing for another couple months, and 2) they transition to coach pitch for the all-star season, so not getting that opportunity puts him at a disadvantage for when he plays coach pitch next spring.

So naturally I was awake most of last night plotting revenge at the dickhead dads that didn't pick him.

All stars at six is pretty intense. We just finished 5U and it was a fun season. They transitioned from tee to coach pitch after spring break and it was fun to see all the kids develop. My kid ended up being a pretty decent little hitter but fucking hated being in the field. He had a tough time even paying attention out there.

I keep fighting with my wife about getting my 5 year old started in sports. She wants to, I don't. I played sports growing up, not very seriously but my younger brothers were in sports hard-core so I know the shitty side of it all too well. Parents arguing with the coaches, yelling at officials, etc. I'd like to wait just a little longer before subjecting him to it.

ngl seeing "heart hurts fellow Dads, after being told our 6 year old had to chance to make..." I really thought that was going a darker direction than not making a baseball team. Tell him to keep his chin up. Bruce Bowen from the internet didn't make several baseball all star teams and ya know what happened to him? He amounted to absolutely nothing in sports.

My only advice is that I’m sure it seems like a big deal now but by this time next year it will be a non issue. Be happy and in love with the he fact that he loves to play the game now. Whether he makes an all star team or not at 6 has zero bearing on him as he grows up. I’ve seen kids at that age absolutely love the game and be heads and shoulders above others and then by 14 they’ve been totally passed up.

Tell your boy how much you love watching him but whether he gets another hit or not you’ll love him anyways will mean more to him than this all star team. Take him to the park and practice with him. Those are the things he and you will remember, not this.

I’ve been there and I know it feels big now but in the grand scheme the game is about him having fun and bringing you two closer together. I’ve seen too many dads ruin a game for their kid by making it about more what they want and hope for them than what the kid wants it to be.

I’m not saying you’re doing that but just keep that as your driving motivator and you can’t fuck it up too bad.

    Thanks for the advice, gents.

I've definitely had my moments with the bolded, primarily with football and basketball, but with T-ball we practice every day because he asks me to practice with him. That's definitely the best part.

And for my OP in this discussion, he ended up making a different all-star team anyway :facepalm:

Second the electric ryobi 40v. I ordered a 5AH and 6AH battery from a wholesale distributor on FB for $40 each. One charge gets me through my trimming and I have a very large yard but got the extras for the other 40v stuff. Great addition for me, very happy with it.

Took my 6 year old golfing for the first time yesterday. He loved it. I’ve taken him to the driving range a handful of times to teach him how to swing. It would warm my heart if he liked golf so I could go more.

Love Ryobi products. Which weedeater do you have and how do you like it? That's the only product of theirs I've had issues with. Mainly with the string constantly cutting off inside the housing and I have to manually re-feed it 2-3 times everytime I cut.

This is the one I bought

    https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-4...1_CA-_-Product_URL&ecc_ord=WJ18010096#overlay

I do feel like I had to slap the head down to feed more string somewhat frequently, if that's what you're talking about, but I've also never really used any other weed eater extensively. It works fairly well, just that the battery does get hot and since you're holding it on your arm it kind of is uncomfortable at times.

So this one is different. The one I have only has one string coming through. It actually feeds automatically so that probably isnt the right word. Basically, the one I have the string cuts off inside the housing (so no string is exposed) and I have to basically open it up like I were going to add more string and run it through that little hole each time it breaks off. Pretty annoying to say the least.

Have any of your attitudes changed over the years in regards to letting your kids play, or at what age you’ll let them start, tackle football?

Our 4yo takes swimming lessons and BJJ. My wife has started teaching him tennis bc she played in college/still plays. He loves watching football (mostly the yelling and cheering) with me so I know he’ll probably want to play, but I’m kind of hesitant and thinking about steering him towards soccer, baseball, etc. Thoughts?

My kid loves football and plays inside with play helmets and whatever else. We play in the backyard too. He's 5 but we will steer him away. The good news is once he tried other sports (soccer) he became obsessed so I don't think he will really care if he plays football. Maybe he can play flag football for a couple of seasons down the road just to scratch the itch and he'd be totally ok with that.

One of his friends calls it "brain injury football" like that's the full name of the sport.
