Listening to his interview on All-In podcast, 1000000% backing out. Can’t believe he’s being this candid - basically calling into question all of their prior filings, insinuating their revenue could collapse if / when brands find out about the bots
For those that don’t want to listen to the whole thing, starts around 21:45 and goes for 15-20 min Also dunks hard on the folks saying he just acquired Tesla and didn’t do anything lol
hes a very stupid person but will still probably come out ahead paying the $1b fee instead of going through it
Kinda disappointed you’re on the Elon is dumb train ngl, expect that from some of these guys but thought better of you. You’re right on the $1B fee, either avoiding a pig or renegotiating lower he’ll come out ahead
why musk is a stimulant addled moron at this stage, it's trumpian, which i get is why the tech/crypto bros like him but i don't know why I should
Well I think the last sentence is what I’m getting at, you don’t have to like him. Even without me personally agreeing to all, you could credibly make the argument that he is unethical, has manipulated prices via media, presided over black eye moments like discrimination at Tesla, and blown out a ton of Gallant Knight ’s shorts. Would generally agree that most people that reach that level have had to make compromises to put it mildly. Crazy to say to someone who has developed multiple companies in diverse fields of manufacturing, rocketry, AI, software, etc…is a stupid person. It’s just one of those self evident things that shouldn’t need further exposition IMO.
I don't really give the laundry list much credence either as the ideas of meritocracy in the US don't hold up. I've successfully dodged the brain worms that entails from MBA types. He's good at marketing himself to the audience that props him up though, elite Trump tier marketing.
I don’t think Musk is a stupid person. In fact, I think he was probably a very smart, savvy, ruthless guy. But he still arbitraged his way into every business he is credited with creating and is the best example of failing upward in the history of the modern world.
i don’t think he’s a very stupid person grow up peter pan and count chocula i KNOW he’s a very stupid person (i have eyes and a pseudo functioning brain)
I can accept taking the Musk guy seriously a month ago but seeing all of the transparently self-serving behavior by him the past month, and you still give credibility to what that clown says. Beyond help.
i dunno the only candidates to ever get unanimous 1st ballot was Mark Twain and Ben Franklin even a candidate like James Joyce was under 100%
We’re all in the same party despite having very opposing viewpoints You’re all my Democrat brothers! Big tent baby
No way, anybody who has ever run a business is a super genius in all avenues of business, politics and economics. We have no evidence otherwise.
This conversation is truly fascinating. For the group - what are some examples of some very intelligent people? Leave out the obvious examples: physicists, mathematicians, Nobel laureates…etc
i find multiple explanations reasonable though, some people can be very intelligent in one sliver lane but total morons outside of it (Ben Carson). in normal circumstances these people often come off as very dumb. others can be very intelligent across many many areas and more in the vein of "public intellectual" (Noam Chomsky, Zizek, etc). these people are who get broadly considered intelligent.
Has anybody here ever watched someone they think is is smart go down a politics or religion or drug hole until they seemed like fools and even do foolish things? Not Whammy!
Being successful in business mostly requires luck. That's the way capitalism works. You've been completely unable to explain how he's brilliant despite it being "self evident" which I get is a way of getting out of explaining it because you can't.
Elon Musk is a criminal. Besides the obvious stock manipulation crimes that he does right out in the open, there is the case of Solar City. He took 6bil of Tesla investors' money to bail out his failing investment in a worthless company. Literally just stealing.
Financial success =/= intelligent. thinking they are intrinsically linked is the MBA brain worms Lyrtch often mentions. This isn’t some great “emperor is wearing no clothes” moment for all the posters calling him a dumbass. is he an actual low iq idiot? Obviously not. But there is hyperbole on this message board fyi. He sure as shit isn’t Einstein either.
My word whammy. This is like thinking trump is smart for matriculating from Wharton and being a near billionaire. Absolute brain worms. Have some introspection.
Ok ok I can work with this, starting to get some common ground here. Definitely not Einstein and ya know, not all financially successful people are hyper intelligent (although many are). Ooo not this, try again. Trump is a fake billionaire who underperformed the S&P with daddy’s money and is basically a mob boss. Elon going to be landing on the moon soon, will create trillions in value before it’s all over and has at least semi-inspiring uses for his money (sustainable transport, landing people in space). Trump builds bankrupt, ugly casinos (and fails!) I cannot think of two more different people and more of an ironic “brain worms” self own than what I just witnessed
If anything, more like Bezos. Great entrepreneur, probably a little ruthless, and had some starting money from mommy and daddy. Trump is an abject failure at everything
The fundamental issue is people confuse aptitude with intelligence. You can have aptitude -- even a high level of aptitude -- in certain fields but not be broadly intelligent. Too many people assume that folks with an aptitude for making money are necessarily intelligent. I've known many highly successful people who are dumber than dogshit in my life.
and if there's one guy out there who would know about falsifying sec filings and manipulating data for the market...
-Get smart and hire a financial advisor. Fran Tarkenton -Musk has no real intelligence. Beeds07 -Musk is equivalent to Trump. The Banks -The fed’s mandate is to raise unemployment (uhhhh no. Maybe read a Powell interview). + everyone agreeing with those stupid takes. Y’all have completely lost the plot. If Musk said the earth was round, you’d turn into Kyrie. Who knew it’d be so controversial to claim the guy who founded Spacex (chief engineer there too) and Solar City, took over Tesla in 2008 (lol at shitting on what he’s done with the company since then), not to mention all the other stuff he’s done just might be…gasp…intelligent. Y’all act like he’s Elizabeth Holmes and has a room temperature Iq.
Wiki says Elons cousins started Solar City. that said, I think everything has gone really well with that business. So credit where credit is due.
i mean raising interest rates does increase unemployment so right now their mandate is leading to them raising unemployment
