Also I’ve been dealing with some sciatica in my lower back last few months. Was trying to work through squats earlier and something popped in one of my hips. Sciatica is now completely gone but now I have a hip impingement. I fucking love being 36 years old.
I had a great squat day this afternoon. I was excited to come into this thread and thank those who gave me some pointers, but instead, I’d like to thank Creatine and only Creatine.
Speaking of Titan, I bought their safety squat bar and have switched to only using that. It’s amazing how different weight feels on it. 405 on that feels harder than 555 low bar squat, with a normal bar. It feels like a mix of high bar squatting and front squatting. Very quad heavy.
I absolutely love it. Great bar to use as a secondary day for competitive powerlifters because it takes the stress off the shoulders and really limits the total load you can use because of how it’s set up. I get a ton of value out of mid 300 work as a 600 squatter.
I squatted for the first time in a month on Tuesday. Just 225x4 FS for 5 rounds then a metcon with some much lighter front squats in it I still haven’t recovered
535 for 3 on squat to finish the block. 20lb PR. 10 weeks out feeling good minus my shoulder not working
felt like i was missing something squatting, it just felt really loose. realized after my last set that i forgot my knee sleeves.
WSM this week, think Martins is best strongman by far but he has a few iffy events. They’re probably gonna put it on CBS delay again which is absolute bullshit
Really looking forward to the behind the neck press, very surprised Martins struggles at it Power stairs is also the best event ever, just sucks for short people
ive been bouncing around to different proteins lately because i wasn’t finding ON for a good price, but i just tried this and was pretty pleased for an unflavored protein https://supplementhunt.com/products...T-3bAr-HHmt5su7DHQ5-R0b1ouQyuEdoaAuQBEALw_wcB and fwiw walmart seems to have a decent price for the 2lb bag of ON.
Mitchell Hooper killing it, 2 for 2 in group of death. 26 year old who’s pulled 475 and has only competed in like 5 strongman shows crushing Shaw, Thompson, Janashia group I hate cbs ruining the coverage. Pretty sure showing it 3 months from now isn’t the best business model even though it’s not a heavily followed sport
are you watching online or just following social media? im watching the video from martins and they said for deadlifting they were just on blacktop that was baking in the sun. one guy said his feet were fried.
Can’t watch online, just social media best YouTube account for quick and to the point results I’ve seen is maximum iron Eddie Hall is there too with interviews/analysis if you’re into that Saw the Martins/Romark video, supposedly Janashia had some equipment malfunction on his deadlift and someone threatened Nezmin’s family. No clue what that was all about.
id rather see the big loz vid than eddie. i wasn't understanding the threat and felt like maybe romark should have left that out.
This shit with Evan Singleton is crazy too. Went into anaphylactic shock on event 1 placing last, missed event 2, then came back today and beat everyone at car walk then supposedly was all over the place on log press Seems like a lot more than strongmen passing out during events, hope they figure out the problem
holy shit i missed that about singleton, sub 10 sec on the car lol. kearney crushed the car and didn't have a lot on log, for such a good presser.
not same since he tore his triceps so glad Martins is back, emergence of Hooper, and Tom/Novikov seem to be in great shape despite Novikov literally at war predicting Tom, Martins, Hooper, Oleksii as my top 4 in order.
My foot is also purple and have no idea what it’s from but happened after I did hard bike after weights Sunday but still doesn’t make sense. Weird injury season for me Night, I’ll quit spamming
Anyone have any experience with King Kong apparel? I'm about ready to buy their Plus26 backpack but thought I'd see if there is any experience with the brand on TMB.
Awesome. Placing the order now. Thank you. I had first grabbed the Aer Duffle Pack 3 and it was just too small to include a belt and my other stuff. Seems like great quality tho.
I don't know where this ranks on training lifts all time but think there's only been a few non-heavyweights ever lift this much in competition. Ilya Ilyin did 246 or 247 and a Russian did 250.5 in the 80s when there literally wasn't any drug testing. Insane strength.
Oleksii 246 kg behind the neck press and won deadlift too, just a machine Tom killed it too and definitely in pole position to win unless Novikov beats him in power stairs and bus pull which doesn’t seem that improbable with today’s results
Use the blue rogue mini-band occasionally to do squats because my technique sucks and helps me in that regard. Not sure what other benefits it has, big Z and JP Price seem to use them routinely and don't think technique is an issue with either.
What a fucking waste of a fucking holiday weekend. I couldn’t find shit for coverage of the worlds strongest man events, just recap videos of reactions but no streamed coverage or footage from the events. Fuck it all.
I’ve bitched about it a many times Sucks Novikov fell to 3rd. Tom won by 10.5 points and killed it but WSM does greatly cater to tall guys Atlas stones is what it is, I’d like to see variations like Arnold’s but it’s a tradition. Power stairs is such a cool idea but why do the stairs have to be so high.
Just finished bench and deadlift. Every thing smells like tequila. I’m sweating profusely and drooling. I’m not sure accessories are going to happen
Judging by the sunburn on my Lower back everything this week, maybe the rest of the year, will be Beltless
Did this with 30 seconds rest on deadlifts then bumped zercher to 305 and did 8. I will not be doing this again and the massage gun is my best friend tonight
