old meme but this thread is dedicated to talking about the feeble attempts your employer combats low morale with
We recently had a division-wide meeting so that we could weigh in on various policies anonymously 250 character limit
My hospital has been hemorrhaging staff left and right to become travellers, we don't have a contract with our anesthesiologists and are paying millions for travellers. PPE shortages, Supply chain delays, etc. My Hospital: "We're throwing a 1 day carnival for employees, Enjoy some fair food and rigged games"
We’re big on gift cards and Drizly orders. “Thanks for working 30 hours overtime last week. Here’s a bottle of tequila to drown your sorrows.”
My dept has also been hemorrhaging folks. My boss' boss just took us to get ice cream at 4 pm the other day.
Travelers are our bread and butter up here. 100-120K to be a nurse in a beautiful state? Pretty easy sell.
We don’t really do anything for morale, but I also get to work from home and no one bothers me so I can’t complain.
We gave everyone $300 at the beginning of the year to spend on "health/wellness" items. A lot of golf clubs were purchased. Not a bad thing, just makes me laugh
One of our former managers decided to schedule a virtual mozzarella making class as a holiday bonus. She is no longer with the company.
I got a $250 Amazon gift card for my 5 year anniversary about 18 months ago and still haven’t spent it. Help me TMB.
Not me, but my friend works for a large medical software company. He received a company award for being a top performer in a department with hundreds of people, and his prize was a hand sized plant for his desk. He's now submitting applications.
I suffer from crippling indecision even when spending someone else’s money . I’m probably going to wind up spending it on a new pair of hiking boots as mine finally bit the dust last weekend.
I get an Amazon gift card every 5 years for my service time as well. been here 17 years so $250, $350, and most recently $400. every time they tax my check for them.
I was allowed to have a Music Dance Experience where I got to choose the music, went with Defiant Jazz. Was a really nice time.
lolno they made it a point to instruct us to bring our badge and made it clear families aren't welcome
I got a $500 card from a business associate I did some contract work for. I used it to get my grandson a baseball bat, and it didn't quite cover it.
This is the first year that I've hit the top of my pay scale. So when my review came up, I didn't get a raise but they gave me a cost of living adjustment bonus which they lumped in with my regular check and taxed the fuck out of that as well
During the pandemic as an essential worker being a pharm tech for Publix they gave us through out the year 2 50 dollar Publix gift cards and 1 100 dollar Publix gift card that they also taxed from our checks.
my prior employer cut bonuses and withheld raises last year then did nothing about losing employees (myself included) and the reward at the end of the year was a gift box with some snacks and a stainless steel wine tumbler in it funny enough it came on my last day and I got to keep it
Blows my mind when new hires negotiate a higher sign on instead of base salary. Government takes enough outta my base, fuck the bonus tax.
We just found out about it today. The guy I share an office with, Crazy Larry, is always bitching about what the hospital spends money on for shit like this. He's gonna lose his mind on Monday and I can't wait. I mean he gets all bent out of shape about our balloon budget (they hang up mylar balloons nearly every week celebrating RNs, lab workers, EVS, etc.)
