They’re already attempting their Solana Beach show this evening. Fuck me in particular, I move on Friday to a new place 16 MINUTES from tonight’s venue. Just had to stay in shitty Phoenix one extra week.
Finally listening to The Smile. I love this so much. It's what I've wanted Radiohead to be for so long now.
like the style of play I always envision myself playing on the drums if I had any talent is basically this album so far
From the little bit of research I did, Tom Skinner is a fairly celebrated jazz drummer in the UK. His style translates over to The Smile is a super cool way. Great choice for the project.
Never heard of Cola until this thread over the last few days. Decided to check this new album out, only 3 songs in but I’m really feeling it Thanks guys
At Pace off that Cola album is one of the coolest new songs I've heard in a while. Can't wait to go out on the open road with that blasting Weird Nightmare album has so many sweet hooks
I like it. Probably not going to listen to the whole thing a ton but a couple songs will stick. Was disappointed with the closing track after seeing it hyped earlier
I wanted to listen to Cola today but ended up listening to Zach Bryan’s album which literally took up the entire afternoon. Perhaps later.
One thing about Covid is that I have really gotten back into music. 50 year old I was done with new music as one should be. But this is giving me Manchester 1990s flashbacks. Really into Snail Mail, Wet Leg, Soccer Mommy, Courtney Barnett, Best Coast for some reason too. Just sucks I can't go see any of these acts live as I don't want to be the creepy old guy at the club
Saw Soccer Mommy a few months back, you wouldn't have been out of place at all. Definitely a younger crowd right up in front of the stage but the rest was your pretty normal concert crowd that covers all of the spectrum age wise.
I went to a Middle Kids show by myself a few years back and ended up chatting with an older guy for awhile. Didn’t seem out of place to me.
Last comment about it and I am done for a few weeks. That Cola album is going to be hard to top, my favorite thing I heard in some time. Did my five mile loop again this morning and just had it on repeat, coming off of another 20-30 or so listens since Friday.
Between hiking, working outside and driving I had a ton of time for music. My pods were all consumed so it was the default. 20-30 may be on the lower side.
I've got a rule of not listening to albums more than once in a day so we're pretty much on opposite ends of the spectrum here
