This could have easily been a lot worse: "The three women who were shot at the salon last Wednesday were taken to a hospital with injuries that weren't life-threatening. Garcia said the suspect walked into the salon with a .22-caliber rifle and fired about 13 times. One woman was injured in her arm, one in her foot and another in her lower back, he said. They have all been released from the hospital and are recovering, according to police." https://www.npr.org/2022/05/17/1099453183/dallas-koreatown-hair-salon-shooting-arrest-hate-crime
Just got a citizen notification that Beverly Hills high is on lockdown due to an armed threat. Doesn't seem like there are many details yet of what is happening.
Welp - we almost made it a full day without one: 10 shot - 2 deceased - Chicago https://abc7chicago.com/chicago-shooting-today-mass-downtown-in-and-state/11872407/
So my daughter just texted me that they are on lockdown because their is an armed gunman on their campus. So yeah that’s cool.
Is this the same campus Eathan mentioned? This happened yesterday from what came up in google. https://www.lamag.com/article/bever...-place-order-reported-after-apparent-threats/
no this was today at Venice High School. they are on lockdown searching for the gun man. My daughters (9th and 12th grade) have been texting my wife and I so at least we know they are safe.
3 U.S. High School Graduations End In Shootings During 24-Hour Span By Jason Hall May 20, 2022 high school graduation ceremonies in three separate U.S. states -- Tennessee, Michigan and Louisiana -- resulting in one death and seven injuries during a 24-hour span, NBC News reports. One person was killed and another is reported to be in critical condition after a shooting that followed a high school graduation held on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, according to local authorities. The incident took place as people were leaving the Murphy Center following the ceremony for the Riverdale High School senior class, Rutherford County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Dan Goodwin said during a news conference Wednesday (May 19) night via NBC News. Hasani Brewer, 18, a past Riverdale High graduate, was identified as the victim killed during the shooting. Brewer and a 17-year-old -- identified by age as the wounded victim -- got into a fight when a third person opened fire, Murfreesboro Police spokesperson Larry Flowers said during a news conference via NBC News. A 17-year-old suspect -- who was not identified due to his age -- was arrested and is scheduled to be arraigned in juvenile court on a first-degree murder charge. On Thursday (May 19), a shooting took place during the ceremony for Crossroads Alternative High School held outside the football stadium at East Kentwood High School in Michigan at around 7:20 p.m. Two people in two cars exchanged "a large number of" gunshots before fleeing the scene, the Kent County Sheriff's Department confirmed in a statement shared on its website. The sheriff's office confirmed two victims of the shooting -- a 16-year-old from Texas shot in the wrist in stable condition and a 40-year-old woman from Grand Rapids shot in the wrist and abdomen in critical but stable condition -- were later located at nearby hospitals. Police haven't determined whether the two individuals were connected to the graduation. In Louisiana, shorts were fired at around 8:15 p.m. on Thursday during the conclusion of the Hammond High School graduation ceremony held on the campus of Southeastern Louisiana University. Four people -- including three transported to a nearby hospital -- were reported to have experienced non-life-threatening injuries, Hammond Police Department Chief Edwin Bergeron Jr. confirmed during a news conference Thursday (May 19) night. A suspect was arrested following a short foot pursuit and charges are pending, Southeastern Louisiana University Police Chief Michael Beckner confirmed to NBC News Friday (May 20) morning. No Hammond High School students are believed to be linked to the shooting and all individuals involved are reported to be adults, according to Beckner. The shootings took place days after a similar incident in Arkansas in which four people were injured outside a high school graduation ceremony held at the Hot Springs Convention Center in Arkansas on May 12.
they are both good. My 12 grader is a service worker for the dean and she was there when it happened. Venice is an open campus so there isn’t a campus wide fence surrounding it. So someone was able to walk on to campus with a gun and pulled it out. Luckily he got scared or thought better and ran off. No shots were fired and he got away. Obviously it could have been a lot worse but just knowing your kids are in that situation is beyond fucked up. I was going crazy and that’s why I posted in here just to post through it.
Not really a mass shooting, but bad. There was an accidental shooting the other day where a 9 year old got hold of a gun and killed a five year old. A few days later, the mother of the five year old shot and killed a woman she had problems with at a local restaurant. Fucking guns mans. https://www.southbendtribune.com/st...m_content=MobileSectionFrontFeed-FeedRedesign
I read that as the mother of the 5 year old is the one who was killed. So mother and child both killed within a month. Davidson was taken to the hospital and later died from her injuries. She was the mother of 5-year-old Kyler Nowlin Jackson, who was accidentally shot and killed on April 30 by a 9-year-old relative.
Well, that’s my hometown. Lot of information going around saying casualties, some saying he killed himself, some saying he’s in custody. Really shitty situation.
Sitting here celebrating my daughters 4th birthday, and when I saw the news report just now I had to step away because I wanted to scream we are hopefully starting Roo in school in the Fall and the thought that once she reaches elementary school she will have to learn active shooter drills I just couldn't fathom when Sandy Hook happened, and now here we are again with more kids dying just because they went to school because of our corrupt and inept government and insane laws.
There's probably no mechanism for something like this, but if a liberal state or city could become truly gun free, I'd move in a heartbeat. Don't give a fuck where.
I’ve heard three different versions of the story. I do know the victim lives four houses down from me.
I remember when columbine happened and I couldn’t believe so many dead. We get almost an equivalent of that every month now. It’s hard not to feel hopeless
this one was yesterday 5 wounded, others cut by shattered glass in early-morning North Charleston shooting By Patrick Phillips Published: May. 23, 2022 at 8:14 AM CDT|Updated: May. 23, 2022 at 6:26 PM CDT NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - North Charleston Police say an early-morning shooting at a club sent multiple people to the hospital in what they described as a chaotic scene. Officers responded to a report of shots fired at Blue Note Bistro on Dorchester Road just before 1:30 a.m., police spokesman Harve Jacobs said. An incident report states the first officers on the scene witnessed “dozens of people running in all directions and fleeing to their vehicles.” Multiple people inside the bar were complaining of injuries from the shooting or from broken glass that was the result of “the chaos after the shooting,” the report states. Three people were sent to area hospitals for treatment of gunshot wounds while others were taken to be treated for cuts, police said. As police investigated, two other gunshot victims showed up at area hospitals for treatment, the report states. The report states the victims ranged in age from 28 to 40 years old, but did not specify which victims were wounded and which were cut by broken glass. Police say two vehicles in the parking lot were also located with bullet holes. They say the investigation remains active and no arrests have been made so far. Anyone with information is asked to call the North Charleston Police Department at 843-607-2076 or Crime Stoppers of the Lowcountry at 843-554-1111.
Sure am glad the first thing our dipshit governor did upon assuming office was sign a constitutional carry bill
