My kids and wife have been sick for weeks. They just finally cleared everything up over the weekend after multiple rounds of antibiotics. They were all going out of town for five days starting this weekend. I was going to have Memorial Day weekend by myself.

Notice the past tense? Yeah, my stupid fucking kids are sick again literally 72 hours after getting done with the last round…so that aforementioned trip is cancelled.

Check the news around Atlanta the next few days because I might snap and spree kill a bunch of shit.

Update: I’ve changed 3 poopy diapers and probably 2 tee tee diapers. Mom mostly likes to do these things herself.

Diapers is the most over hyped thing. Easiest part of having a baby (added stress around circumcision wounds note) I can change a diaper blind and one handed.

That morning shit after his bottle is a messy bitch. Always a minimum of 3 baby wipes because he somehow always explodes forwards all over his balls. Afternoon poop is a single wiper 98% of the time.

yep, i had a friend who was so nervous about having to deal with the poop and being grossed out. Asked him if he was grossed out wiping his own ass. It's basically the same thing in terms of grossness.

This is when you tell someone to suck it up. The bar is so low for men to be “good” dads it’s kinda insulting.

I echo that changing diapers is overrated. It's quick and easy most of the time. Only time it wasn't was when I forgot to put a washcloth over my son's junk and he pissed everywhere which made me stagger back and I elbowed my wife in the temple and she fell into the glider chair.

i think he was planning to be a good dad but was just squeamish about the actual human shit he would be dealing with. of course a year later i ask him about diapers and he just rolls his eyes and says "it's the least of my concerns dude. don't even think about it"

Our daughter is about to do the same in a week. I wasn't particularly emotional as we've had a lot of very depressing distractions with my wife's and also my family the past year, but google did one of those mashups of videos on my account of my daughter with the caption "they grow up so fast" (even though I've never explicitly tagged her in anything) and holy shit it hit me then. The days are often very long but the years are short.

Had the Pre-K ‘graduation’ yesterday, and the 2nd grade awards thing this morning. I followed that up with driving 5+ hours to Charleston, SC, where I am about to do some stunts. I think I potentially get hit by a car.

Took our kindergartner to school today. He asked why there were police outside. Respond to "keep all the kids safe"....in which he replied "oh because its rainy and slippery outside".....me: "yep, thats it".

Popping in to agree time flies. We had our first in Aug '20. We said then we would discuss having a second when he turned 2. Wife and I were laughing the other night because when we said that, 2 years seemed like a long time, but we're 2 months away

We had the 2.5 hour dance recital for the 3 year old on Sunday. Totally did not expect booze to be served but it was a gamechanger. It was actually pretty enjoyable and for the ~8 minutes my daughter was out there was worth it. We were very proud. Also I wish I recorded my 5 year old son staring at the teenagers doing the hip hop dancing. Life changing moment for him I think.

My two kids at these young ages are very opposite. I’ll take his 2+ hour naps and the annoying diaper changes vs the other who napped longer than an hour maybe like 10 times after 3 months. 35-45 mins every damn nap. That was hell.

Yea, little guy HATES diaper changes. Even when I strap him down, he fights and squirms. It's pretty much a two person job for each poop. Other than that, diaper changes are massively overrated. takes 30 seconds max most of the time.

Going back to the car convo.

Anyone got reccomendations for a Higher end Mommy wagon?

My X3 is just barely big enough with 1 kid. We plan on trying for #2 in the near future so she is going to need something much bigger than my X3 to be the main car for long trips and such.

Looking for something in the BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Audi class, but happy to look elsewhere.

We bought a Volkswagen Atlas and love it so far. It has the captain seats with a third row and enough trunk space to get around fine. We bought a top loader for road trips that i haven't used yet. We have 3 and I'm fairly certain it's the biggest available without getting a Tahoe/Yukon or minivan.

I have the Tiguan and 1 kid and it's fine. If we have a 2nd, we would be fine as well. 3rd you'd want to get something bigger.

The X3 is a similar size to the Tiguan. I'm gonna disagree on it being big enough for 2. The dam stroller alone takes up 70% of the trunk space. Add in clothes and all the other shit babies need and I can barely see out the back on simple trips to the keys for the weekend.

yep. with our atlas we only fold up one seat in the back row for my 5 year old. he loves going back there and can buckle in all by himself. the seat next to him is down and that's where the stroller and other baby stuff goes.

After he takes his morning constitution, he grunts for my attention, sign languages “diaper,” and makes me chase him to his changing table.

Regular rail came off the crib this afternoon and toddler rail went on. Levi can enter and exit his crib at will now. It is a brave new world.

His first act of freedom under this new setup was to stay in crib and fall right asleep within 2 minutes.
