Saw it tonight in IMAX, was freakin awesome. I found myself white knuckling the armrests there in the last 30 minutes. Walking out of the theatre I felt like I had just ridden a rollercoaster and my adrenaline was pumping.
Got in my feeling seeing val kilmer like that. Good on them to make his real illness a part of the movie's plot
Really liked it. Eyes definitely got a little misty multiple times. My only issue is that the character development could have been a little better, especially for Rooster. Last 30 minutes was intense.
Interesting to consider regarding Tom Cruise's lengthy career: Other than Mission:Impossible, he does not do sequels. He's managed to be the biggest, longest-lasting box office action star of his era based almost entirely on original IP work.
There’s been reports of people driving fast/speeding out of the theater I’ve heard. Funny bc I did the same thing with the theme song blaring.
funniest shit for me was the old man sitting next to me at the end of the movie Spoiler who the fuck was penny in the first movie?
Driving 2.5 hours round trip tomorrow to see it in IMAX at 3:45 by myself while my fiancée is at work.
Currently overhearing a guy behind me explaining to his wife what "raw dog" means by reading the definition off urban dictionary
I see your point regarding his early career but after 2024 he’ll have gone since 2014 where the only thing he’s done in a decade that wasn’t a sequel was American Made
It’s also weird to still think this movie started filming in 2018. And it actually may do Miles Teller the best since he’s gotten the reputation of being a shithead in the past few years.
That was very good, glad I saw it in Dolby, worth every penny of the $20. The sound and camera work is incredible. Movies like that are why you go to the movies. Spoiler Loved what they did with Kilmer. The Mach 10 stuff was awesome. Thought it was perfect until they happened upon the airfield with the F14 basically ready to go that got a little corny but I can live with it. Guy who played Hangman was awesome.
Also Tom Cruise is the fucking man. Guy cares so much about doing it right. I already liked most of his movies and this one is up at the top. Gained an increased appreciation for him when that clip leaked out during Covid basically showing how serious he takes the process.
-Opening montage made me want to jump out of my seat -Wife cried the entire time -After the movie, "You're going to be watching Top Gun clips on YouTube all day aren't you?" -Jennifer Connelly is all time smoke my word
