Avs are obviously the better team. The frustrating thing is the Blues pretty much shut Makar and MacKinnon and his line down all series (except one game) and still couldn’t get it done. That’s credit to the Avs too. Which means they have another gear if they get the big guns going.
Yeah I'm not sure why they would. Any of the games in the series could've gone the other way, it just looks worse as a sweep. They faced a team with a ton of playoff experience that knows how to take advantage of mistakes and the best playoff goalie of the last three postseasons. Any team that wins a cup(or multiple ones) usually has to go through this. The Lightning lost to the Blackhawks and Penguins who had previously won cups when their window was starting to open, the Panthers are in a similar spot now. They've got a good core to build around, not sure how Brunette will end up being as a coach but it was his first playoffs as the head coach. I thought going into the playoffs his lack of experience was overlooked by people picking them to win the cup and that showed up in things like their PP being awful. You give him some time, but if they're in the same spot two years from now then they should move on.
Considering they haven’t given him the job yet, I think they are moving on to someone established. Or circle back to Q like enjj said
Igor did some real Igor things that period. Feel like the Rangers need to get the next one the way things unfolded that period.
it’s a bad goal but Cole made a worse play than the goalie. He screened him and was doing nothing in the play. Caught in no man’s land while screening your goalie is not good. The first two goals were worse.
chytil and laf, laf is driving that line from what I am seeing. He takes pucks away and protects it very well by making good decisions. He needs to shoot a little more but he rarely makes a stupid pass I would just like him to take the shot once in a while. i am bias since he is a guy from my neck of the wood but I like what I am seeing, the points will come at some point. I am not as worried about him as I was earlier in the year. Actually I am not worried at all anymore and I like my mark stone comparison with bigger upside offensively
only explanation I can see is that their goaltending situation is so inconsistent that it makes them look worse when a few softies go in.
It’s not as if they’re not generating offense on the road. Shesterkin has stood on his head tonight. But it’s always a much more open game when Carolina is on the road. The Rangers can’t get an inch of open ice away from MSG.
I am buzzed boys and I’m in a good mood even though I know Carolina is winning at home in game 7 hope everyone is having a good evening
clearly aren't aware of how petty the nhl is. Don't dare ice the goalie, shoot a puck into the opponent's net during pregame, 25 other things, but headshots are cool.
Trouba should probably be sitting out on suspension right now, but can’t help but laugh at all the retaliatory penalties he draws
the blues lost one game trying to retaliate to Kadri….do these kids don’t know how to memorize a number for later anymore? Short attention span I guess
I mean I get not ripping it at the goalie on a dead play, no issues with that. But if NBA players can shoot after the whistle, I don’t see my an NHL guy can’t flip a puck into the net. I have no idea what happens in Game 7. Raanta getting pulled has shaken my confidence.
Do both the Rangers and Hurricanes have home ice advantage over Tampa? Can’t remember how that works with the newer playoff format.
