Oh also Burnt by the Sun. Always loved them and anytime I'd play them people would give me the doo-doo face
who doesn’t like Mayhem? they are universally beloved / respected. This is hard. Maybe some numetal bands that I like as nostalgic guilty pleasures. Sometimes I still listen to the first 2 Linkin Park albums.
High On Fire. My favorite. Got fucked yo with Pike before a show. Exactly what you’d expect he would be like. Mastodon. Don’t understand how they aren’t the biggest metal band. Love them. Sepultura. Love everything Max era.
Full disclosure. I have never heard Linkin Park. I may have HEARD them on some metal radio show, but I wasn't actually aware that it was Linkin Park. That first Korn album though.....
I get some weird looks when I talk about Oliver Magnum Lizzy Borden Burial (mostly looks of confusion over who they are). All you Death fans who are unfamiliar shame on you!
Just noticed Wormwitch has a repress available of Heaven That Dwells Within on their bandcamp. Been waiting a minute for one. For those interested
I don’t know if it really counts but The Crown’s Deathrace King is very underrated imo. At least I don’t see it get brought up often
saw internal bleeding headline last night. the forefathers of slam absolutely crushed it on a wednesday.
been on a big powerviolence kick recently. Infest, Man is the Bastard, Spazz, and Dropdead have been the main ones
Went to the Chaos and Carnage Tour last night in Anaheim. Lorna Shore is really incredible in musicianship and Will Ramos’s voice sounds exactly like the recordings. Carnifex always delivers but Lorna Shore blew them out of the water.
the staying power of carnifex and suicide silence in today's deathcore scene is interesting to say the least
Jungle Rot/Internal Bleeding tomorrow night. Solicitor in a dive bar Friday night. Sepultura playing only old shit Tuesday night.
They are playing tracks from Beneath The Remains and Arise exclusively and then they end the show with a Troops Of Doom encore.
Speaking of Demilich, Hell’s Headbangers got some more stock of Nespithe last week so I picked that up
Ok bye guys, if my car gets stolen in Portland tonight one of you has to pick me up because I don't know how to uber.
If you guys haven't, check out new Sentient Horror, it's awesome just like their first two releases. Stockholm New Jersey metal at it's finest.
Just bought this amazing album on LP as it’s been pressed for the first time finally. I bought the CD in 1997 and fell in love with the sound. Anyone unfamiliar with this band should check out this album — Finnish dirgy black metal lead by two bass guitars. Latest release from this strange Black Metal entity Pummeling symphonic black metal probably, along with Old Nick/Abysmal Spectre side projects this is my favorite band right now — they’re sadly defunct as of this year but they worked in a collective and have a lot of projects to explore as The End Commune. Anyway this is just dense, beautiful semi-melodic black metal with heavy psych underpinnings. I may have posted this before but this EP deserves the love because it’s such great, haunting and trudging black metal And one non-metal thing
I can't remember if I had an album of the year contender or not in 2022 so until further notice it's Demonical.
New Vital down. It's quite good, favorite tracks were 1, 2, 3, 5 & 7. In other news, The Chasm's popularity continues to baffle me. New one is typical boring Chasm. I guess Farsseing and Spell are decent albums, but nowhere near worthy of the praise this band gets. Edit: Instead of adding additional posts for all my complaints I'll edit and add them to an existing post. What the hell happened to the once great Manegarm? Christ this sucks, they've become the quintessential shit tier Napalm Records band.
Manegarm has been horrible for a while. the album with the huge giant smashing the church artwork, and the other album with the burning boats - both those were awesome Manegarm records.
i listened to Lorna Shore to hear what all the fuss was about re: the vocalist. I was pretty impressed with his skills. The music was pretty decent too, I guess. I didn’t think I would like it. Could do with less chugga chugga stuff, but the symphonic parts and some of the riffs reminded me of Anthems-era Emperor at times.
