Baby Butch has had a runny nose for 2+ weeks now. No temperature, doesn’t act like it bothers her. Possible to have allergies at 3 months?
I’m a pharmacist and never got sick for 8 years even being around the nasty fucking public. In the 2.5 years of my son holy fuck. I catch 50% of his shit. Latest was a nasty stomach bug, I’m assuming norovirus. Vomit, body aches, and peeing out my ass hole. Gone in 24 hours and better at 48. Now little dude has an ear infection that was originally treated with amoxicillin. Take him to emergency hours this AM and they culture it because it’s draining outside his ear and his ear lobe is red and swollen. Dude acts like it’s nothing though.
I have had about a 3-4 week stretch where I didn’t catch some form of crud from him. Seems like every 2-3 weeks its something new he’s bringing home from daycare.
All of our doors have handles. Our front door opens out. 1 year old realized today he can reach and pull them down. Sweet!
That was the first year and a half or so with my daughter after she hit 6 months. Just constant ear and respiratory infections, we eventually got tubes in her ears and that made a huge difference in preventing ear infections.
I don't recall insurance caring about this, it was more our pediatrician who said "yeah I think that's enough ear infections in the past 6 months that you should definitely get her some tubes."
Son got tubes at 13 months and this is his first ear infection since then. He never cried or anything with his ear infections.
After the third ER trip and 45th illness this year passed around the household causing us to scramble and reshuffle our work schedules, I finally asked my pediatrician if there was a cause for serious concern or anything we could do to mitigate. She basically laughed in my face
i feel ya. Since late April my daughter has had RSV, pneumonia, 2 ER trips for a virus (102+ temp and hives) and currently has COVID. Oldest son mixed in RSV + strep, younger son is on oxygen (respiratory issues) and tested positive for COVID today. It’s been 1.5 months of non-stop doctors. At one point it was 14 family doctor visits in like 16 days.
We are at the stage where Levi grabs my hand to take me somewhere to watch him play and I am here for it. The rules are quite simple. I follow, I watch, I say good job, and by no means do I step in and try and play too. My roll is to admire.
5yo fractured a metatarsal in his foot today at camp. 3-4 week recovery. Summer is off to a fantastic start.
We are constantly ordered to be "fans" by 4 yo. Sometimes he's actually doing something athletic others he has having pretend battles with 1 yo brother and then randomly announces a winner at the end. But boy if we aren't cheering on whoever we are told to be fans of we are in for it.
It’s a nature camp. He will probably have to stay home the rest of the week. Gonna try to get refunded. Dunno if that’s a dick move or not.
His daycare class announced someone was diagnosed with HFM. So im looking forward to him and then me having it this weekend.
I think 2/3 is aproaching summer activities burnout already and I kinda think my ex / my parents have over scheduled her, haha. Yesterday she had softball camp all day, then an individual pitching lesson, then a swim meet. I think she's going to just crash when she visits next month
Put WED II in a front facing car seat over the weekend. It was adorable. He thought it was so amazing. Kept saying "whooooaaaaa" as we passed stuff.
5 year old had his first swim meet last night. Got absolutely smoked in his heat by kids that either had more swim team experience or kids a year older. Came up to the wall at the end and fist thing he asked was "did i win??". yeah buddy, hell yeah you won.
Moving to have to go to a feeding specialist for a 2.5 year old. Practically living off pediasure. Isn’t really eating stuff that he used to eat. Not losing weight (yet) and plenty of energy but just doesn’t eat. Really fun and really putting a damper on trying to make any plans this summer. I’m worried we’ll uncover some development or Neurological issue although he shows really good communications skills. Just doesn’t eat anything.
Thankfully haven’t noticed a shortage on pediasure like there was for formula. I get it in bulk at Sam’s
Not to hand wave this because it's 100% always worth meeting with a specialist. (there is literally zero downside to getting this peace of mind) but my guess is your kid is just being a picky 2 year old. Both of my older kids go through times where they don't eat anything.
I was also told as long as they aren't losing weight it isnt time to worry but also cosign getting it checked out
This is my life now. I highly reccommend these things. but install them upside down so you can still easily pull the handle up to enter but the kid is locked out.
6 weeks, 2 days. Doc gave him his two month shots because my sister is bringing her kids down for a Disney week next week. 11 LBs, 12 oz. Little dude is getting big.
HFM it is. Got the notification after his nap this afternoon he woke up with a 102 fever and super lethargic refused to eat and wanted to go back to sleep. Went to doctor to rule out ear infection. Batting 2 for 2 on flying solo with baby for fathers day weekends, we got a nice little tradition going on.
It's been awhile since my daughter had an ear infection as she had tubes inserted, but she got pink eye in both eyes over the weekend and then Wednesday she had a super high fever and has an ear infection. Basically been out almost the entire week from school, I've gotten jack shit done.
Happy Father's Day, you goobers. First one here and it's hitting me in all the feels. What have I become? Awesome is the answer.
Didn't expect to wake up and have Charlie Weis be the first person to wish me a Happy Father's Day, but here we are.
Happy Father’s Day my friends. Wife is coming off Covid so we’ve been sleeping in different rooms and I have the baby. Baby decided she wanted to wake up at 6am today.
It’s finally not 97*, 3 racks of ribs about to hit the smoke, first Father’s Day beer cracked, and I told my kids they aren’t allowed to fight/argue today. Let’s get it on.
