Porcupine State Park is one of the coolest state pens I’ve ever been to. Love it up there, that news makes me want to venture further into the Yoop as I’ve really never been that far east. Tangentially, Isle Royale shouldn’t be a Michigan National Park.
Vinegar Strokes I'll be at the Tigers game Friday probably getting rained on, look me up! We can take a selfie for RalfBully
Looking for a random place to hit up in the UP . Going to Oswald's Bear Ranch and Tahquamenon Falls for the first time. Have another day to fill.
Shipwreck Museum? Pictured Rocks? Great Lakes Boat Building School in Cedarville? Spend a day on Mackinac Island?
I’ve never been and honestly don’t know the answer, but it’s a roadside for profit tourist attraction. The odds that they only home rescued bears and don’t buy cubs is low imo.
Yeah after looking into it more, we're not going. Not the worst sanctuary/rescue type place I've looked at, but there's enough sketch to make me uneasy.
Overnight lows of 73° and 77° are not great. Will be interesting to see how well my air conditioner keeps up with that amount of heat. Might be 80 degrees in my bedroom at midnight on Wednesday.
It is still Spring this week. Spring weather in Michigan is a regular shitshow. From freezing cold to rain to blistering heat, Spring has it all! At least in Summer you expect it to be hot for stretches. For that reason I go Fall, Winter, Summer then Spring.
1. Fall; 2. Winter (cold as fuck) / Summer (cool); 3. Spring; 4. Winter (warm) / Summer (hot as shit) Years which feature both a warm winter and hot summer can fuck right off.
I can think of several things to do outdoors in 90 degree weather. I'm not spending any time outside when it's zero degrees.
Fall is the best as it goes with start of football and cider mill season. 1. Fall 2. summer 3. spring 4. winter
Summer way underrated itt. Avg high in the 80s? Yes please. Even in the extremes when it's 90+ you can still find great things to do outside involving shade and water. Plus, in Michigan you get the added benefit of absolutely perfect evening weather in July and August. Give me shorts and sandals all year round. Fall a close second. Winter is fun for like two weeks. Spring sucks balls until mid May.
Anything that involves movement in 90 degrees has me sweating balls. Fuck that. Put on a jacket in zero degrees and I'm good. Of course, there's probably football or basketball on anyways.
I don’t mind the cold, actually enjoy it. If it didn’t last so long, we’d make this our permanent home. I can’t handle how long winter hangs around. Southbound in September
I love Michigan from June-February. It's March 1-May 30 that frustrates the shit out of me and drives me south. Just give me a fucking spring.
Detroit folks, coming up this weekend. I need restaurant recs for Downtown or adjacent + also a good Ann Arbor lunch spot unless that answer is just Zingermans. Will have a car.
Hot weather sucks imo. I dont mind cold. Just wear a jacket. I understand disagreeing but not sure whats baffling about it.
The difference for me is you actually can be outside doing something in 90 degree weather. I played golf Tuesday and will play today. Also, you can hop on a boat, take a dip on occasion, and be perfectly fine. Zero degrees means I’m snowboarding or doing something outside for not long at all. Not too mention the roads probably suck ass too with ice
