Nobody in that match sold a single thing... That was just spots for the sake of spots. Got to disagree with you on that one.
Sammy reuniting with Jericho was great... best thing to happen to either in months. But that Wardlow stuff was pure garbage. This screams Vince. Not sure if an injury caused a change in plans but for fuck sakes get him away from this shit and into a legit program
Ladder matches have spots... that's not the point. Usually people sell after those spots. It was a video game match.
The post match chair shot... you and Nador are doing so well. The two of you should bring this act to thecoli
Imagine watching this show and saying Forbidden Door has zero juice. I'm disappointed there won't be any Okada (presumably) but the card so far and what is shaping up is going to be insane. current card: Interim AEW World Championship: Jon Moxley vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi AEW Women's World Championship: Thunder Rosa (c) vs. Toni Storm AEW All Atlantic Championship: tbd IWGP United States Championship: Will Ospreay (c) vs. Orange Cassidy Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara & Minoru Suzuki vs. Eddie Kingston, Wheeler Yuta & Shota Umino expected: ZSJ vs Bryan Danielson Something featuring IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jay White Something featuring Adam Page and/or Adam Cole, possibly involved with Jay White (possibly more; gotta figure FTR get something, maybe the Bucks too)
I’m going to have to side with Bankz on this one. The no sale is getting old. If you do all these cool ass moves and the opponent pops right back up to get into position for the next spot then your cool move really isn’t that cool anymore. It’s okay to have a fast pace match but when you are doing moves that look like they could kill you, maybe at least stay down for a few seconds.
He didn’t know if she requested it or if it was initiated by the company, Wrestling Inc’s Raj Girisaid he heard WWE has released Sasha Banks. Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp said he couldn’t confirm that with his sources, but didn’t rule out the possibility Giri’s were correct
with all the Vince stuff, I could see WWE scrambling to wrap up any potentially negative press situation they still have control over and releasing her versus their usual routine of freezing her "independent contractor" contract.
Agreed. It's one thing if you're not a fan of the matches and what not because that's just someone's opinion, but there were THREE matches officially announced in a span of two hours along with Jay White saying he'll be defending the IWGP title there and he's complaining about matches not being announced. How many matches were they supposed to announce, like six? Then there would be people bitching about how there is going to be too many matches. There's six matches now. Probably going to get a match or two with FTR and Roppongi Vice vs. United Empire and Aussie Open. Danielson vs. Sabre on the table if BD isn't battling White.
People need to understand this will be a long PPV. They’re going to let guys work. It’s a PPV full of dream matches.
I do wonder what the possibility of Vince getting forced out would look like from a creative standpoint? HHH? Heyman? Truly uncharted waters. Even during the steroid trial, he was prepared to run things from jail.
Personally my dream match for Forbidden Door is Wardlow vs the entire roster of Stardom (making a surprise appearance)
"be careful what you wish for" comes to mind for wwe fans looking forward to the post-Vince world, I'd imagine there's a purge of the "wrestling people" behind the scenes
Most of the "wrestling people" already got purged when they revamped NXT or are already in AEW or somewhere else because Vince decided they were hicks years ago. What's left above like the level of in-ring producers is just the yes men like Pritchard, Johnny Ace, and Kevin Dunn.
Also, amazing how none of the “wrestling media” were anywhere near this story. Must have been too busy at the media scrum with TK helping them work an angle.
WWE being a publicly traded company is just.... I mean this type of stuff in THAT BUSINESS is beyond inevitable.
JFC this is pathetic. Go look at which media first reported stories such as Deshaun Watson, Dan Snyder, Ray Rice, Donald Sterling, etc. It wasn’t the media that regularly covers those sports.
I’m guessing Vince committed insider trading or something along those lines if he sold a ton of stock knowing this story was hitting.
probably, but that stuff seemingly happens so often that I have a difficult time seeing Vince getting indicted. All the congressmen stock dumps/buys during the pandemic made it clear that no one with the ability to do anything actually cares.
