High risk low reward there. I can just imagine the secret service's collective stroke about "hey, can we fly AF1 into range of a conflict area with three different nation's SAM engagement rings?
I can just imagine the secret service's collective stroke about "hey, can we put this 80 year old man on a vehicle with one set route in and out of a conflict area within three different nation's aircraft and SRBM engagement rings?
At this point he is the only Europe/NA head of state that has not gone to Kyiv. Important symbolic visit
gosh I hope the billions of dollars in weapons rolling in with US flags freshly scratched off them would offer sufficient reassurance as to our support
How long of a visit does it need to be? Does it need full press coverage or can they release it happened afterwards? Should he wear a suit or not when standing next to Zelenskyy who will be in his army green T-shirt? Just want to make sure the symbolism is correct.
I think they should wear Buzz Lightyear and Woody costumes to symbolize that while our two nations can have differences we are united.
Srs no reason for Biden to go. We are already doing enough if we make good on MLRS systems and logistical help.
My uncle was on the design team of the original (I think maybe it was FMC then?). We got a bunch of stickers and my dad was trying to explain to me how innovative it was, but I was like 6.
Warning Graphic. About 20 dead russians and some are just fragmented remains. Footage is nuts though. At the beginning you see a large russian platoon clustered at the top of the trench. Somehow they made it across a ton of open ground to storm the trench. Towards the lower part of the trench you see ukranians throwing grenades towards them but most fall short or miss. Ukrainians pull back likely so their artillery can start striking the trench. Then the footage skips to the aftermath of the artillery or mortar strikes. Most of the russians are dead with some trying to crawl away across the open ground. It doens't go well. Then the drone comes in close to show some of the bodies- this is a graphic part. There is speculation given the equipment of the russians that these are wagner group mercenaries
Did they just get caught out of the trench? Some of those wounds looked very precise like just head wounds which was why I was wondering if it was a barrage and then close fighting
Yea I think it is a few things -The trench side they were on was pretty shallow. -The artillery and/or heavy mortar that hit them were powerful enough to really mangle the trench. It also buried a few of the bodies up their waist in dirt. -They scattered once the trench got hit and tried to retreat across the open ground- you can see guys rolling away pretty far away right after it cuts to the aftermath. So some did escape. -Once they got out of the trench the Ukrainians picked them off with rifles. You can even see atleast one russian try to run away and get shot in the video.
Hasn't there been some discussion the last few days that the Switchblades actually don't do that well? Even as anti-personnel?
Casualty reports from either side are clearly just numbers derived from information campaigns with no basis in reality.
