Okay. But you nor I are the type to send death threats or let a show/movie affect our lives in any way other than commenting on this message board. And I assume that you like me, would never hold a bad performance against a person. And can separate a character from the human playing it on screen. I understand where you’re coming from. But you’re addressing an issue that doesn’t apply to this board/this case at all. Again, just thought the meme was amusing.
On episode 3 now. Like it but still just not feeling the female bad villain. Her performance just seems not great.
When she grows up yeah. But they’re trying to hide this kids identity from the world acting like she’s a senators daughter. Why tell her she’s adopted at the age of 8 and risk it?
Third Sister has at least one line an episode that makes me chuckle. “Then admit you’re a spy.” Was it this go around. Talk about forced.
This honestly feels like an overreaction to the racist attacks. Because this is not a compelling character I want to learn more about
I guess it depends on where the character ends up. I feel like she’d be ok in more of a hero role. She’s just a suck hole of a villain
she wasn’t pregnant and shows up with a baby. Not sure why this is being discussed like it’s weird. It was the plan
Obi Wan is really falling off for me. I'm going to need something special in these last 2 episodes for it to be worth it.
I thought this episode was pretty good, but I was looking forward to Obi wan realizing he had to reconnect with the force before trying a rescue. They just skipped that and went for it. I also think it’s a stretch to think she would spend time planting a tracker. There’s absolutely no reason to assume a weakened, burnt, and broken Obi wan would be a threat to try a rescue from their fortress, much less succeed with one.
They are going to need one hell of an excuse as to why the shows even going on. It seems like it's over Obi-Wan has gotten Leia back and all he has to do is go back to Tatooine. I really don't know where they go from here without doing something very stupid.
How much is Favreau involved with the non-Mando shows? The scale for the action/fights in the non-Mando shows just seems off, almost small/childish to me (the slow chase/alley fights in Boba for example). And I wonder if it’s because the directors/producers struggle with that new green screen tech thingy they invented for Mando and use for these shows.
It feels like obi wan and vader are side characters in a show called obi wan. They made Reva and Leia the main characters and that seems like a confusing narrative choice.
It’s hard for me to see where this goes with so little time left. Liked episode three, but four didn’t add anything to move this along.
have we learned anything meaningful about reva's character in the first four episodes? i'm not sure what a "good" performance looks like in that role because there's nothing there.
She was in the middle of theater class at the training center when Vader killed all the younglings. She is now forced to live as a terrible actor and wants her revenge
Will you take someone "yelling fire" and "light them up"? Because that second phrase the third sister said isn't cliche or anything.
This could’ve been a decent movie with a slightly better script and supporting actors liked this episode
Great episode. Series should have been more of this and less whatever episodes 1 2 and 4 were. Also saw an apt article saying every episode of obi wan is copying the 6 different star wars movies in some way. Episode 4 was basically like a new hope and this one was very much empire strikes back. 3 was also like Revenge of the Sith which proves what I've always thought ROS and ESB are the two best star war wars movies.
Glad they didn’t let the 3rd Sister hold her own. There was no way she would stand a chance after Obi trolled him for another W. It’s dumb she isn’t dead though. No way an enraged Vader lets her live.
Certain things you gotta just roll your eyes and live with. Like a 9 year old girl being the only person on the whole station that could "hack" the system. But Vader's awesomeness made up for the other jankiness. Also thought they wasted tala's death by having obi surrender immediately after. Could have made it more impactful by having her death help them escape
I liked that episode. I know a lot of people predicted that third sister arc, but I think there was a way to make that character much better in the first four episodes building to that point than just making her a maniac. I thought she was really good in this episode and feel as though we could have seen better from that actress if she was given better stuff. Her not being dead is dumb, too. I don't know what the finale is going to bring, but my first thought when I saw Haja drop that thing is "this is going to lead to some bullshit that's dumb." I still have that fear for the finale. I get that you have to push Luke into danger at some point if you're doing an Obi-Wan story, but I kind of hate when a finale ends up being about something different from the episodes that came before it. I also hated to see Tala go out like that and really wanted her to make it. I enjoyed that character.
I thought this episode was the best yet. Vader going on a warpath always makes for good entertainment. Why did they shell the door the entire time when they had a lightsaber?
The best thing about the show to me is how it has illustrated how much of a badass Vader is in terms of fighting
It definitely should have been a movie. It’s a fine story with plenty of good bits but the pacing is off. For 6 episodes you shouldn’t really have filler episodes.
This is what I expected from this series. 6 episodes of this. 6 flashback sequences where the lesson obi-wan is trying to teach anakin directly correlates with the present events.
Spoiler Apparently all you need to survive a light saber to the abdomen is to use the dark side. Poor Qui Gon just didn’t one the right tricks. Maul, Grand Inquisitor, and Reva (most likely).
