Did this with my Biden bucks. I have no real use for it, but at least I can keep my fridge running if the power goes out for an extended period. (I don’t live in Texas and it hasn’t happened to me in 20 years in Georgia yet.)

I told my kid all I want to hear today is complaints and whining. Since all he does is the opposite of what is asked I’m expecting a quiet calm day.

Mine decided 5 am was wake up time to just snuggle and sleep on me until 630. Been going 100 ever since and first day he’s been himself since Thursday. Mom gets home in a couple hours thankfully.

Both kids and my wife are sick. Had to run out for soup, Gatorade, popsicles, and Pedialyte. Have to work later this afternoon. They're all sleeping now. Trying to decide between a bike ride or lay on the couch to enjoy the quiet

Bike ride imo. Laying on the couch is a waste because you’ll just be waiting for the quiet to end.

My wife is coming home from an out of town wedding...my 3 yr old daughter has for some reason now vomited twice in the last 90 minutes. The last one was all over the couch and herself as she woke from a nap. I told my wife I'm going out for drinks and Mexican by myself when she gets home and she wasn't about to push back on that.

The one thing my 5 year old son is absolutely passionate about is building shit. Legos, bristle blocks, trains, magnatiles, etc. He is constantly creating cars, houses, planes, etc. It's really fun watching his little hands work.

oldest turned 9 today and turned in a proud dad moment by standing up to a group of older kids trying to pull the "hey, we want what you're doing, get out of here" move.

She basically told them no, what are you going to do about it etc. They pushed her around and they wound up getting in trouble.

Now I want to put her in MMA classes or something so she can fuck shit heads like that up. She's a bit of a loner, so I kinda worry about when she's older.

little Butch is 4 months. We’ve already talked about getting her in some self defense classes, lol. Thinking karate. Her great grandpa is like a karate HOF.

My 4 yo does jui jitsu and it's awesome. The actual activity is great plus the coach is no nonsense with kids acting up. If more than 1-2 kids act up consistently the whole class doesn't get treats at the end.

My kids do karate and it’s awesome for them (but not my checkbook). I’m hoping to transition them into jiujitsu within the next year or two because karate is essentially choreography for boys and teaches very little functional defense/offense.

My kids will still get the breaks beat off em if they try to employ some karate techniques during a conflict.

We did several weeks of a karate day camp last summer after hearing it highly recommend by a friend and hearing all kinds of buzz around town about this new karate place.

I left feeling like it was more like his pre-school daycare than anything to do with karate

This summer they upped their prices and came on way too hard calling and texting me try to get us to sign up for the whole summer at once, telling me they are almost sold out, etc
Told them good for them, I'm supporting these other camps who are competitive in their pricing because they obviously need the buisness

Going to Busch Gardens by myself soon to ride roller coasters. Son keeps messing with me saying I can’t, it’s closed, etc. then tonight he says
“When you go don’t forget to get dead!” So I’m probably dying on a roller coaster soon. Sick!

Daughter (about to be 2) recently changed classes/teachers at daycare and is absolutely miserable. Making for some tough days around here. I typically drop her off, but mom had to this morning. And man oh man the waterworks from both of them. This is the first time dealing with this as she’s always loved going. Feeling helpless.

This is pretty standard and likely going to pass in a month or so. Guessing the teacher change precipitated it, 18-24 months is kind of when you start often seeing separation anxiety related to daycare.

Appreciate that info, and I think you’re right about the teacher change sparking it. I keep trying to tell myself that, but man it’s tough since this is the first time she’s really shown that at all. And trying to tell my wife that’s what is going on has resulted in me being the worst human on the face of the earth. So I got that going for me, which is nice…

We were fortunate to have no have to send our son to daycare as he stayed home with my wife/grandparents so when it was time for pre-school it was rough the first month. I had to drop him off because he wouldnt have left my wife if she did it. Even with me it was hit and miss and some days he wouldnt let go and it broke my heart to leave but knew he would be fine after a few minutes. They end up getting over it but it doesn't make it less easy. Definitely a few times I teared up driving away knowing he was still upset when I left.

I drop my kids at daycare every morning and sometimes they're screaming crying and clutching on to me for dear life and I just dip on out of there.

Mine still has separation issues after going to his new class. (12 months) If he’s throwing a fit it’s always “miss Courtney is right here we know she’s your favorite” just walking him into class in the mornings his head is on a swivel looking for her.
