Thought last episode was pretty good. Love seeing Vader in his full power. My thoughts haven’t changed - this should’ve just been a movie side note- I watched all three prequels on a plane trip last week. First time I’ve watched them each in one sitting all the way through in a long time. Feel like they got better with age?
3/5 overall for the series Was really hyped for this, but was borderline content for the sake of content Obi-wan kicking vaders ass was cool
Thought it was a great series. I’m also a very casual Star Wars. Definitely seems like we should get a season 2 with obi wan doin his thing
I mean he’s building quite a resume of halfway besting Vader then just walking away/disappearing into the ether
he only went back to finish Anakin. Once he realized anakin was gone, he felt like his work was done? That’s how i interpreted it lines up with obi-wan telling Luke Vader killed his father and that he is more machine than man edit - he also calls him just “darth” when he walks away. Just like he calls him only darth in a new hope
I took all of this as something to do with the Jedi code. Defensive fighting. Once the threat was neutralized… fight over. Regardless of if the opponent is dead or alive.
Man idk about this show. Good series in a vacuum, but Im left uneasy with retconning some stuff. Also how many times has Vader had half his helmet sliced off? That's twice so far lol
The split mask scene was awesome. Vader smugly smiling when he said he killed anakin was great Was even better than this
I think the pacing and it being released one at a time is what made it seem “off” I think clone wars series did a great job of filling in the holes, but idk that it worked as well with these 6 episodes. There was a lot going on and felt rushed at times but also somehow felt like it should have been a 2 hour movie
Clone Wars also didnt contradict or tried to give a 'different point of view" to stuff that's been in canon.
I knew I was omitting something, when I posted that. Speaking of Maul Something that is hilarious, but I dont care that much about. This show takes place 4-5 years before Rebels and the Kenobi/Maul fight. Ben has aged quite a bit in that time
The finale was pretty solid. Mainly because it actually focused on giving Kenobi a character arch. I have no idea why they didn’t touch on Anakin flashbacks more throughout the first 4 eps so it could setup the finale. If I ever rewatch this, I’d probably only watch the last episode.
I may be wrong…. But didn’t Kenobi Kill grievous in self defense? He was hanging on to the ledge and shot grevious as grevious was approaching him to kill him.
idk. I’ve only seen the movies and didn’t watch any tv shows until after mando s2 so I’m not a huge sw universe person He did kill grievous by exposing his heart(?) and blasting it
I’m not going to overthink it. The fight scenes were awesome, especially the last. Hello there was amazing. The scene with Leia talking about her parents was fantastic. Ewans handsome goddamn face. ultimately I think this enhanced Obi Wan as a character. Not leaps and bounds, but enough.
A lot of “that makes no sense” and a lot of “this characters a waste” but some cool stuff too. Cut the Leia and third sister stuff, maybe have the inquisitors capture Vos and that brings Obi out of hiding, lots of flashbacks and same progressions from Vader/Kenobi and it would be a really good 2 hr movie. Couple questions. Correct me if I’m wrong but he used Qui-Gon’s fighting stance to beat Vader in the final right right? Same that he used to beat Maul? I thought he closed himself from the force because he was worried Vader would reach out and find him. We know that happened between Vader/Ahsoka. But that seemed to not be an issue at the end.
Was so happy to see Palpatine. Thought it was great that he's still manipulating Anakin, even 10 years after Revenge of the Sith. "If your past cannot be overcome..." That trailing off, implying who knows what. The way Vader sits up, can't tell if he's afraid or angry, but immediately seems to move on. And then Palpatine smirking, man I love that character. His influence only gets stronger I imagine. Because the Vader we see in this show still seemed to have a bit of Anakin. But no longer I think.
Iirc Obi-Wan is one of the preeminent lightsaber users so I imagine he can use all of the fighting styles.
Ep6 ruled. Last two episodes don’t quite make up for the lack of focus from the first four episodes. Still enjoyed it though.
It's frustrating to me that Reva could have gotten to where she did in so many better ways that could have made me empathetic towards her and wish good things. Instead I got nothing for her. Kind of a microcosm of the show. Things ended up fine but the way the ride to get there wasn't as cool as it could have been.
Definitely should’ve taken the last two episodes and then built out a true movie behind them but I really liked it and I really like Deborah Chow. bring on szn 2 who gives a fuck
Last two episodes fucked. Give me a season 2 with no Vader and just obi-wan trying to help bale organa set up the rebellion.
I know Obi-wan is suppose to be watching Luke, but I could’ve done with a save the sky walkers story for the last season of this show. I’m not smart enough to figure out that plot, but there has to be something there.
