What's the PPE total vs the few $600 checks some people got 2-3 times?? I also find it pretty hilarious that some how it's the dems fault for spending money and the current state we're in
I bet it was because he’s a huge piece of shit to everyone around him, and nothing to do with his politics
A somewhat closeted but obviously gay privileged black man loudly parading around campus probably railing about gays, blacks and poor people. Yeah I’m sure he was just minding his own business and being harassed.
Also, no chance someone doesn’t go tell the police or the school if their life was under threat. What a dumb country we are that people just believe that kinda shit
Grifters are really good at suspending disbelief to people they are grifting. The plot holes are as big as comic book movies but sell just as well.
My former partner’s son is the lily-white version of Christian Walker. I should note my former partner and his wife are two of the most toxic people on the planet and in complete denial of reality generally. But their early-20s son is flamboyantly gay and his speech, mannerisms and attitudes are identical to those videos of Walker’s son. Both he and his wife are absolutely adamant that the son is not gay, and my former partner liberally sprinkles gay epithets in his daily language.
This post confused for for a second until I realized you're a woman with a shitty ex or you're a gay man with a shitty ex that has a wife now. I don't even want to know which one, doesn't matter at all. The verbiage just confused me for a second.
This video broke my brain. I kept waiting for her to fall back to her pattern of acquiescing to far right populist framing as if it's the same as the left, but it never came. I suspect it's because Maher is a firm neolib/con (depending on his hot take).
IMO - their average voter has suffered the effects of imperialism much more harshly and doesnt have a populace indoctrinated by American exceptionalism. Doesnt make them smarter necessarily, just less propagandized.
I think in a general sense, Americans are very stupid so yes I still feel comfortable saying they're smarter regardless of the history of their countries.
I’d call it more the effects of end stage capitalism. The income disparity is much greater — and certainly there is a racial component to it as well — such that those countries more obviously operate as oligarchies and the citizens have no reason to see conservative capitalist policies as a viable answer to their problems, but rather as the source of their problems.
Aside from the obvious of this being ridiculous - I wonder what our long term savings would be if we invested more heavily in the health content/quality of school lunches for all kids. But - let's bomb some shit instead.
Prob don't have the racism, or at least to the same extent, that so many Americans love to help sell the conservative policies
No matter the stage of my political transformation, I’ve never liked that smarmy smug fucking piece of shit. He’s the worst.
Fr the improvement in not having to fuck with school lunches is amazing. I can afford it but it’s unnecessarily difficult and ostracizes free/reduced kids because of the differentiation. Imagine being the poor kid then imagine being reminded of it every day at lunch for your entire grade school career.
It’s so depressing that you can only get Republicans to help poor people if there is a guaranteed return on investment.
If this isn't WeWork's HQ, then a WeWork office I'm assuming would be cleaned by the building's staff since they're usually part of some bigger building that is owned by a separate company.
this is how it works at my company's HQ. security/janitorial/food service/etc staff are contracted out. i fucking hate it.
Maybe? It seems almost like it's taking a shot at WeWork (which does suck), which isn't the correct target.
I would need to see footage of Walker’s kid when he didn’t know he was being filmed and he was “On” in order to have a strong opinion on his particular mix of grift/asshole/crazy. Milo Yiannopoulos was a hateful grifter, but he didn’t behave in such an aggressively off putting way.
I just looked for that Krystal Ball clip on YT. Maher's channel doesnt have it up lol. The only clip w her is what I usually expect from her - right wing bitching about wokeness, how it hurts the working class ect.
Maybe it’s just top of mind but it seems like it’s an indictment on our two labor economies (which the pandemic exacerbated) more than wework specifically.
Mind blowing what we are watching happen to our country. I know these people don't have souls, but holy fuck at the brain worms it takes to try and spin that stat as a bad thing
Wasn't sure where to post this, so it goes here. The Navy has fired a dozen leaders but won't explain why A total of 13 commanding officers have been fired so far this year, including five in one week, the Navy said. Spoiler June 17, 2022, 12:55 PM CDT By Melissa Chan The Navy has fired nearly a dozen officers in leadership positions in less than three months, including five in one week, due to a “loss of confidence” in their ability to command — an unusual string of terminations across land, air and sea teams, experts said. At least nine commanding officers and two senior advisers have been relieved of their duties since April, when a cluster of suicides on the USS George Washington warship sparked widespread concerns of a mental health crisis. A total of 13 commanding officers have been fired so far this year, including 12 in the Navy and one in the Marine Corps, the Navy said. Most recently, four Naval commanding officers and a top leader were ousted from June 8 to June 14. It’s unclear what prompted the personnel changes, which the Navy said were unrelated to each other. The Navy did not elaborate further on specific conditions that led to the firings, but stressed the importance of "trust and confidence" across all levels of the chain of command. "The U.S. Navy has long maintained high standards for all its personnel. Those who fall short of these standards are held accountable," said Lt. Cmdr. Devin Arneson, a Navy spokesperson, who added that such an action is "neither punitive nor disciplinary." Navy desertions increase amid growing concerns over suicide and mental health MAY 19, 202202:47 None of the leaders served the George Washington, where at least five crew members died by suicide in the last year, angering some sailors and advocates who work to reduce military suicides. “How many service members have to die before this commanding officer is held accountable?” said Patrick Caserta, who along with his wife has been advocating for better mental health treatment in the military, after their son died by suicide while serving the Navy in 2018. “You cannot hand-pick some commanders as fall guys and leave others untouched,” Caserta said. At least one George Washington sailor, who asked to remain anonymous out of fear of retaliation, said he partially blames his commanding officer, Capt. Brent Gaut, for the rash of suicides, which include three within a span of a week in April. The sailor and the Casertas believe Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy Russell Smith should also be fired, following controversial remarks he made during an address to a fragile crew in April. Smith, the service’s senior enlisted leader, is responsible for matters dealing with enlisted personnel and their families. The sailor said his shipmates still talk about Smith's comments that sailors should have "reasonable expectations," and that they were not “sleeping in a foxhole like a Marine might be doing.” In separate news releases, the Navy gave vague explanations in at least four of the cases and blanket “loss of confidence” statements for the others. It said an "assessment" of the current climate at the Naval Justice School led officials to fire both the commanding officer and her second-in-command on May 31. However, the Navy said neither officer was involved in misconduct. That commanding officer, Capt. Amy Larson, had held the role for about eight months. She has been temporarily reassigned, officials said. Earlier, a "command investigation" resulted in the April 28 termination of the commanding officer in charge of the Submarine Training Facility in San Diego, the Navy said. In Hawaii, a "series of leadership and oversight failures" at the government-run Red Hill Bulk Fuel Storage Facility led to the April 4 dismissal of the commanding officer of its Fleet Logistics Center. Most recently, the Navy said the commanding officer of the USS Bulkeley destroyer and his third-in-command were relieved on June 10 due to a loss of confidence in their "ability to effectively function as a command leadership team."
