This makes sense for people here in Detroit since you’ll get Wings, Tigers and Pistons games. I likely won’t get it, but I can at least see the $20 price point making some sense. It’s a total rip off just about everywhere else.
It's pretty absurd that I live in Chicago, and it's easier for me to get access to StL/Missouri sports than if I lived in StL
I will, unfortunately, be subscribing to this. It's been impossible to follow anyone but the Lions without going back to cable.
Same here. Can watch basically any Yankees or Rangers game...unless they're playing the Dbacks or Coyotes.
I love Fubo but it's a giant failure they don't carry TNT or TBS. Generally not an issue for me since I don't watch the NBA and just skip the TNT NHL regular season games but finally came to a head with the play offs. Luckily got Sling for half off for a month. Still all-in cheaper than cable or satellite I guess.
Going back to this bullshit. It’s hilarious how these guys want $20 a month for 1 channel. I get there’s actually a lot of games on there, but the average person doesn’t care about that many teams. I haven’t used it in awhile, but the Bally sports app was fucking terrible when I did. I wouldn’t sign up for that even if I cared about the 3 teams in my network if they haven’t fixed the app
You don't have to pay for Paramount Plus at all. I've been using those free month codes without issue since it came out in 2020. It works on either tier. Just cancel before the free month is up and you can use the newest free month code the day after it expires. https://www.doctorofcredit.com/free...giving-works-for-new-existing-previous-users/
Check your phone carrier deals. A few months ago I randomly saw TMobile added paramount plus by looking at something else on their add-ons page. It’s possible plan deals have updated since you last changed/looked at plans and have a streaming service or music included.
What plan are you on... Limited Commercials (Monthly)? I probably used those free month codes (and have been using D.O.C) maybe 5x, but stopped working a while ago for me.
I'm on the Premium plan. You can to use the free month codes after the previous free month expires. It's never not worked for me. Previously you could stack a free month code onto an existing free month but they stopped that a while back.
Sinclair will soft launch its local sports streaming service in five markets on June 23, with a full launch still scheduled for the fall. This marks the first time that Sinclair has set a specific date on the rollout of the much anticipated service that will start streaming local MLB games in Detroit, Kansas City, Miami, Milwaukee and Tampa. The launch of Sinclair’s direct-to-consumer service, which it’s calling Bally Sports+, has a huge amount of importance in the sports business given the declining subscriber numbers among regional sports networks. As media companies, leagues and teams try to figure out how to preserve the value of local sports rights, they are testing out streaming services as a way to maintain revenue sources. Earlier this month, NESN launched a streaming service in the Boston area for Red Sox and Bruins games. NESN is selling NESN 360 for $30 per month or $330 per year. By comparison, Sinclair will sell Bally Sports+ for $20 per month or $190 per year.
paused my yttv today for the next two months. really nothing out there that i need to be able to watch that i can't get elsewhere. will have it back for football season though in doing so, i noticed they're offering the sports package (red zone, etc) for $79/yr or 10.99/month (I think those were the prices). considering i only use that package during the NFL season, I'm good, but I thought that was an interesting strategy
I'm moving to a new house in two weeks. I've been a Directv customer with AT&T fiber for many years and currently pay $220/month. I've been looking at cutting Directv but keeping the internet. What streaming service is the best all around? My wife likes HGTV/Bravo and I mainly watch sports but don't want to pay $150 for Directv. I've been looking at YTTV and it's currently the frontrunner. Any recommendations are appreciated. Whooooooo!!!!!!
Btw...if you've never signed up for YTTV and end up going with it, you can use my referral code and you'll get a $30 discount. https://tv.youtube.com/referral/r3autnmr1vgxkp
I tried a few different ones and YTTV has the best user interface and performs the best (at least for me that was the case). My parents have the DirecTV streaming service and it's pure butt.
I've been using Fubo for about a year now. It's great for college football and soccer. It doesn't have TNT and TBS though. I would probably go with YTTV if it had Pac-12 Network.
How do you pass the "home tv market" prompt that comes up occasionally, where it wants to know your location?
it hasn’t happened to them in almost a year. I have their passwords if it does and all you need to do is long in here and then back out and it fixes it
We think it’s because they have the app on their phone and when they come here, it counts that as being back hoe
My Shield TV(2019) just got updated to support 5.1 audio from Youtube TV. https://techcrunch.com/2022/06/08/youtube-tv-5-1-surround-sound-on-google-tv-android-tv-roku/
we are thinking about going to YTTV as if my parents. Since we live in the same town would it be possible for us to get one account and split the cost? are you able to set up different users on the accounts?
It's tied to a household so theoretically no to your first question. You just set up family sharing and each person logs in with their own Google account.
You can add whatever accounts to yours. You have to split the cost yourself, the actual bill Isn’t split everyone gets their own dvr and landing page, so it’s basically different accounts
Nice, so similar to say Netflix where depending on the “user” you get a landing page with different options. And your saying each “user” gets a DVR that isn’t shared. Shit I might make this happen this week.
No lading page to choose which account to use. If you add your parents to the family sharing, they'll have their own account and you won't be able to access anything on their account unless you sign in to the app under their google account. Problem with sharing it with someone outside your home is that every three months each user has to log in to the app in the home area of the membership holder. If after three months it hasn't been done then they will be locked out until it they do it. In your case, that shouldn't be a problem though since you live in the same town.
Not quite like netflix. You can do the option to pick which “account” to use at startup or bypass. You essentially get an entire different account. Your guide is set however you like it, it’s your dvr, etc we haven’t had the sign in issue in over a year. They live in Orlando and I’m in Tampa. As long as you have their sign in, you can just sign in and out quickly and back out and it fixes it in same market you don’t have to worry about it
If any of you jagoffs work for Bally Sports, I have some candid feedback on the (lack of) functionality of your piece of shit service and complete absence of customer support.
Maybe it's a me problem, which is fine. It could be a massive coincidence that I've never had these issues with any other streaming service. Or I'm an idiot for giving my money to these idiots. Spoiler It's me, I'm the idiot.
