Don’t remember what his Miami salary was but 10/yr doesn’t seem like a lot. The 3 years seems excessive but you’d assume he’d only ever play 2 of it.
Yeah let's see what the guarantee looks like on year 3, but also yeesh that a 37 year old is your off-season centerpiece
Speaking of the 76ers, question for the NBA historians from a former NBA fan: Did the 76ers simply choose tobias harris over jimmy butler a couple years back, or is there more to the story? If the former, how is Elton Brand still employed?
The Heat can offer close to $9 million and not be hard capped, so with income tax associated, it's fairly similar money
He's never made more than 7.9 in a season so 10 is a decent sized pay raise, especially for a a guy who will be in his age 37-38-39 seasons.
Used to babysit Nick when he was really young and he was always Nicholas, and I’m wondering if that was why? I never even thought about it though
Not meant as a humblebrag, and definitely mentioned it on here before. I lived next door to Judd buechler growing up. They were really close friends and I’d babysit all of the kids when they’d go do something together (and judds parents didn’t want to). And Steve Kerr is as awesome in person as you’d expect

Celemo Handcuffed duc15 Taken from Pistons thread. So Dort and Grant for 7 and 36 plus filler if I reading that right. Thoughts? We a'int winning shit but there are worse things I guess. If they resign Nurk I'd imagine something like Dame Dort or Simons Hart Grant Nurk 6th man Simons or Dort Nas Keon Johnson FA big
i don’t get paid 6mm dollars to identify 3-4 nose guards but Dort and a pick for 7 and 36 seems like lunacy to me. Why would OKC do that?
Dort is one year out from getting much more expensive. Shai is a couple weeks from getting very expensive. Is this roster at a point where we are fine with being locked in place money wise? If you can then jump from 7 to 4, things suddenly get very interesting.
it's a proposed threeway trade between Portland, Detroit, and OKC, Manny was just focusing on the Portland part of it
Maybe. I wouldn't be tripping over myself trying to move Dort, he's basically an ideal fourth or fifth starter on a contender
Makes sense and I think if you can get 2 and 4 without giving up Giddy or SGA obviously it would be a no brainer. I wish my Gm would try and get Kenrich Williams off your hands, especially if we are going to stupidly trade Jc
OKC would trade Dort and 12 to move up to 7 to get Sharpe (guessing). DET would trade Grant and get the 12th pick POR would get Dort and Grant It's a three-way deal several national guys have proposed over the last month but to my knowledge has never been talked about by the teams involved. Dort and 12 for 7 seems pretty reasonable to me
personally, i've sort of fallen out of this idea of trading back for Dort and definitely fallen out of the idea of trading for Grant with a lottery pick. Both players are due new contracts soon and while that lineup is good, i don't think we're a true competitor without Nas developing into a star (and he can't stay healthy). i wouldn't hate the moves but it seems like there are better ways to improve the team. i am also intrigued by trading for Thybulle or Hachimura (both who have sort of been linked to trade rumors) as wing defenders and they would presumably be cheaper than these trades. i think my interest has changed because i've learned more about Sharpe, Mathurin, and Daniels -- classic draft bias. And all three seem great for us if we're taking a long-term view. 2 of those dudes can really shoot. 2 of those dudes seem like they should be good defenders. And all three of them seem like they can run and get into transition, which I hope we look to do this coming season more. my current preferred fake trade idea is to take on Hayward's contract from Charlotte + their second 1st. then trade that charlotte pick for Grant. I don't know who we can actually resign after taking on that money (because the Bledsoe contract is complicated) but at minimum the roster is Dame / Simons / Nas / Hayward / Grant with #7 and maybe Hart and Nurkic (and I prefer Hart). Dort/Grant is better than Hayward/Grant but Hayward/Grant/Sharpe is better than Dort/Grant IMO. We're Portland and we should be looking to take on negative contracts to get picks.
That seems like a dogshit return but they can maybe get another 1st with the space they free up or TPE
