Honestly Fetterman might be the only legit hope Dems have which is weird. He ticks a lot of boxes. DNC will absolutely not allow him to get the nom though
And, hell, he's pretty centrist when it comes to most policy, so you're probably right. Let's give him a shot.
He has positioned himself to where you can talk yourself into him from any spot on the spectrum. It's impressive.
Disagree. If he wins Pennsylvania the alure of the upper Midwest firewall will make the consultant class wet their drawers.
Can he survive this purity test though? I don’t think many people are even aware of this incident, but they will be. Embarrassing past few days on TMB for lyrtch.
Didn't seem to hurt him in what was originally thought to be an uphill battle primary or the current polling.
The fetterman jogger story was connor lambs ace in the hole and the only thing it got him was a few retweets from self-righteous k hive dipshits. Fetterman is the antithesis of every fucking boring consultant created inauthentic dipshit like kopmala or mayo pete.
I'm very interested to see the Pennsylvania senate result. It's way too early to be looking at polls, but Fetterman seems to be successful so far in appealing to Trumpy WWC voters. He's been much better at it than I expected. GOP nominating a carpetbagger is a gift for him too.
It's possible you're right. The consultant class primarily cares about their own positions in the party and society though. Winning elections is far less important to them than that. If "outsider" Fetterman represents a threat to that they will quash him. I don't know enough about him to know for sure
Steamrolling lamb in the primary and then steamrolling the gop when biden is 30 point underwater in a gop leaning state is.
The primary was supposed to be the return of the lamb and centrist dems. That alone was a huge test he passed with flying colors.
Idk about this. People seem to be putting Pennsylvania in almost the same category as Ohio. Dems have won Pennsylvania 7 of the last 8 presidential elections. Now, it's trended more red, but I still think it's a blue leaning state.
Pete vs Fetterman issues with black voters, hand waving pulling a gun on an innocent black man and how that’ll play nationally to black voters, small town mayor takes, etc. Spare me the esoteric political minutiae justifying, rationalizing your inconsistencies. Just hold your L. We all have off weeks.
I don't think you can compare Pete and Fetterman's experience and classify them both as small town mayors. Fetterman at least has 3 years executive experience in a large state. That's more than just being a small town mayor.
Wasn’t Fetterman the mayor of a small town in PA, like ~5k people? Is his dad a rich businessman too? I don’t think he overcomes those political purity tests.
he has also been lieutenant governor for 3 years but I’m guessing you knew that to make a dumb comparison
Pete was appointed. Fetterman will have actually won elections and served in major executive roles. This really is just your Pete grievance from years ago but it makes no sense.
in that case im not sure how you aren't "obligated to vote for them forever" there is a pretty big divide on policies, especially given the last 6 years or so if that didnt change your views, idk what would
getting an early start on dems being at each other's throats for the primary and creating grudges that will carry over to the general.
Mayor rat boy mckenzie isnt winning shit because hes inherently unlikable because everyone realizes instantly that hes an empty suit that would say or do anything to gain power. Him and kopmala are the same candidate.
He won one? Unless we’re counting state primaries? You don’t think Pete could have won a state democratic nom to run a losing campaign in a red state?
Petes primary about face on basically every political policy was one of the most craven cynical plays in history. Within a primary! Not a general election rhetorical positioning move.
With the GOP assault on state level elections, 2024 is going to be rough for non Christian nationalists.
