Mike Farrell is currently on Instagram live talking about Napier’s struggles. There are 11 people watching and sadly I am one of them.
All of our big money boosters are saving their money for a DeSantis presidential campaign. So our NIL deals aren’t gonna be competitive till 2025.
Well yeah, in retrospect it’s easy to realize that guy probably doesn’t have relationships with high school football recruits. But it’s difficult to figure that stuff out real time.
Honestly surprised Napier struggling like this. I expected Recruiting to be the one thing, if any, he'd nail.
It's his first big job and there were bound to be growing pains. Was the assumption that he was a great recruiter based off of his time as a cog in the alabama machine? It's a year 0 situation for a reason. If he wins, everything else follows. If not, well, we'll save you a seat at the kiddie table.
This was very early on in my message board days, but I’m pretty sure he was a really good recruiter while at Clemson. At least our home board hated his guts largely due to his recruiting. So I assumed that meant he was a good recruiter I guess. Idk
Not sure if Napier is the problem. It’s either we ain’t got no money to match the other schools or the Administration isn’t willing to play the game. Probably both.
The results “looked” different and I can’t be bothered to do sad math…but I’d guess their on-field results were about even. Mac got by early with leftover Muschamp recruits and both ultimately managed the same thing - losing to Bama in the SECCG
I’m not. He’s an uncharismatic weirdo. Odds of replicating Dabo, especially in the NIL world, aren’t high, imo.
Genuinely hilarious our administration pretends to have any integrity whatsoever while bending the knee for anything Desantis says.
McElwain’s success was made with Muschamp’s recruiting. Urban won a championship in his second year at UF. Most of those kids were recruited by the guy who sucked before him. I don’t get why people always bring stuff like this up.
Yeah you know that talking point has jumped the shark when someone attempts to use it with McElwains recruiting.
It was brought up because someone else raised his name as some kind of recruiting floor, when he moved the ball forward to at least some degree in terms of production. And I'd argue that mullen's run was the most impressive since urban since there was actually a team in the east with a pulse during that time.
1. Charley Pell - built the foundation for Hall's immediate success (players) and ultimately Spurrier's, fuck the NCAA 2. Galen Hall 3. Ray Graves
Billy Napier and Florida are about to lap the field once this recruiting kraken (or crocodile in this case) gets released!
Nope. Those are just the $5.99 gas station glasses. Probably thought “these will make me look more like a real scout” as he was walking up to pay for his Polar Pop and taquito.
Is it me, or does Mullen’s son kinda look like Urban? Definitely looks like one of Urban’s daughters (Gigi. Had to look it up).
I was posting more that a 50-catch/500-yard transfer possession receiver was dubbed our top playmaker (non-QB) on offense. Hope AR stays healthy.
