I'm trying to do this event but I've been horrific today. Pretty sure I lost 6 straight before winning my last one after the dude quit after I homered on the first pitch.
I go adley, first is your choice but I could not hit for a fucking shit with Pratto or Toglia. Running Murray at 1. Mook or Vidal at 2nd. SS Vidal or random FS card that mashes for you. 3rd Baty has been great for me. If you don’t like something in there, Jose is the answer, feel like I prestiged him a month ago at this point so giving others a go. OF running Ron in Left, he’s won multiple games for me. Hendrick in right, he’s been great, vastly better than others I’ve used. Trout obviously as well, again just got him to V. MVP of the event is Garret Mitchell, he is the fucking man. If you have not given him a go, make that change. He’s fucking incredible, like I am still over 500 with him through many games this run. platoons Robert and Alvarez, they both won me games. I can’t hit with Judge to save my life. Also got lucky and ripped off 9 Wednesday and 6 thursday, sold Perez. He’s no Edward. I also haven’t been on since Thursday so I’m sure the last 5 wins will take me like 18 entries.
I saw a fair bit of Detmers early on, but like 75% of the time you’re getting Miller, DeGrom, Brash. LHP options out of the pen are not that great, either. It’s relatively safe to load up your lineup with lefties. Bobby will make you look stupid but you just need to wait to figure out when you’re getting a fastball where you expect to see it and it’s gone.
I just collected 27 Future Stars cards to complete that collection but I already have Brett so I don't need the voucher. That was probably dumb and a waste huh?
Yeah, basically it's just another level beyond the Brett collection they've changed some things up this year so it's not a certainty, but I'd be surprised as it's definitely a way to fuel stub spending
I'm playing beyond awful right now, especially in this event. I either lose 1-0 or 8-7. I've probably played 50 games and I'm at 13 win.
gameplay is still bad. Friend and I were playing coop and squaring the ball up with good timing and just getting deep fly outs. But the guys we’re playing get 3 weak hits up the middle on early timing and beat us. Shit is just so random and dumb.
I got 30 event wins, and started playing my first ranked games. I went 2-0, but only got 3 innings played towards the rewards.
I felt bad. The first guy had an all Diamond line up, but my team was still a lot better. The second guy was starting gold Smoltz and my guy were just up there for batting practice. He quit when my lead off batter in the third hit a HR to make it 12-0.
Been some flash sales on packs today. For the next 49 minutes they have 2 Ballin Out of Control packs for 20K. Can buy it twice. 1:3 odds on diamonds Was well worth it for Willpépé
I just did that earlier in the day and got fucked on Takashi. So all said and done I made the money back.
Has anyone been able to link accounts with this game? I picked it up for Switch, follow all the instructions and still nothing. Any advice?
What stadium is that? Looks like the wall is pretty deep there and I’m not really sure what the complaint is
Your note sure what the complaint is of a 110 power hitter hitting a ball perfect and it not leaving the yard? When you can have early swings not even in the PCI go 400+ feet? sportsman park isn’t that deep of a park
All I asked is how deep the wall was because it seemed pretty deep which might make it feasible that it didn’t go out Deepest part of left center is 426’ and it’s a little to the left of that so seems like it could’ve been like 410’ and still been an out
and I've hit early/very early swings that weren't even inside the PCI that went 400'+ with people who didn't have 110 power. the RNG in hitting is beyond broken
yea it’s awful. I feel like I get more hits of bad pcis with bad timing than center pci with good timing. The randomness has killed this game for me. I’ve taken a break from DD to play franchise.
Sportsman Park was 445 to dead center. He smoked it but that's a canyon out there. That's probably gone at any other non-Polo Ground park. Agree with your overall point though. The RNG is ass, especially on balls pulled.
Making this fucker quit in the 2nd felt good. Not going to lie, Randy was 90% energy so he wasn't starting but I warmed him up before the first pitch in case it got sweat. First game back from a trip, think 2nd of this season.
I did think “It might be fun to use the fastest possible team and play at one of these huge old parks” but I have not actually done it
Yea it's just the number of HRs I hit out of deep parts of that park in Show21 that were worse hits/hitters. RNG seems worse this year This ball had with that contact has no business leaving the park. Hit a HR with Silver Soto the following inning that was similar timing and only about 1/3 in the PCI
Oh I don't disagree. The HR's hit on balls, especially on pulled balls on early swings, is a joke. The funny thing is they are normally absolute missiles and the game like speeds up as they leave. Same thing happens on a throwing error. The game glitches and fast forwards on a throwing error, or even one that short hops a fielder and bounces away. You know it's going to be bad before the ball even gets to the fielder. Same thing on the HR's, the game fast forwards as they leave the park. I know right then that it was early or very early, before it even shows it. I will say the fluke HR's decrease as the difficulty level goes up. They don't go away but they do seem to be less. Maybe they do it to make scoring easier on lower difficulties bc players shouldn't be as good at the game? Either way, I hate it and I hate events on all star. It's just a fluke fest.
I just got diced by this guy. He was 38-12 with a mediocre lineup at best, mostly Future Star cards. He led off with Lofton and bunted every time. He didn't have a single player other than him hitting over .250... yet he was 38-12? He just didn't miss with location. He spammed high sinkers and mixed in 4 speakers up out of the zone, hard to tell the difference and once a strike and one is 4 inches high. Felt like a Zen in game bc he just never missed and Roy only has 93 control so even a tick of perfect will lead to hittable pitches and he just didn't have those. He literally threw every pitch in one location. No inside fastballs, no Sinker away, nothing. Just the same pitches in the same spots but never missed over the plate.
He was the first one I've played that spammed high Sinker this year. I had a lot of pop outs on high 4 seamers I thought were sinkers but they stayed up. I've tried high sinkers, and they can be effective, but like every 3rd or 4th one ends up a cock shot down the pipe. He won on 2 hr's. He replayed both of them. I tried to message him to ask how much the Zen cost but he had messages blocked.
TLAU how is this for some RNG? Not to say the first 2 should definitely be hits, but the 3rd one absolutely should not be a hit.
This one shouldn't have been a home run... Just to compare with the Devers Sportsman one that started this whole RNG anger for me Sportsman: 110 power. Lefty vs. Righty. Fastball up in the zone. Perfect/Perfect swing = went about 410ish Cornfield: 80 power. Lefty vs. Lefty. Slider away. Decent PCI + Pretty damn early swing = went about 385
