I haven’t played a sports game regularly since NCAA Football 14 and that was terrible because you couldn’t stop the option
You could stop that by just changing game plan toggle to focus on quarterback. That’s where all the big plays came from
This is why I don’t play ultimate team https://www.instagram.com/reel/CfIdFs2lQZu/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
This isn't an ultimate team issue as much as just a general ratings one. Madden has always..going back forever...that players with different ratings makes no difference other than like their speed rating. It's why they keep trying this different QB things (vision cone anyone?) to try to make the QBs seem different and for whatever reason "throwing power and accuracy" never make a difference.
My issue is that the game sanctions putting someone like Derrick Henry in at QB They could very easily not give out a Derrick Henry QB card
wait theres a Derrick Henry QB card? I dont play UT so I just figured they had him back there in a direct snap formation or something. Or even a pitch and throw since you dont see the snap to see what the formation is.
Nah they just like doing stupid shit like this. I hate it when they do it in FIFA during promos. They’ll take a defender and make them an attacker or Vice versa. Take someone right footed and make them left footed. It’s so dumb. It’d be like SDS making a SP Trout card that was one of the best SPs in the game
ultimately (pun intended) what these modes come down to is can you enjoy the game while staying within you budget whether it is f2p or 5k/month?
oh so this fantasy position card thing is just a normal thing across all of these games/companies? Cool. cool. (Sounds terrible.)
It is. Best game mode for Madden is franchise with rules. Dynasty mode with people will be the same. Problem is EA makes so much money on these cards they don’t really improve the franchise game mode year to year.
So I keep seeing this but honestly what has even improved with UT modes? Going by this line, I'd expect UT to be some innovative powerhouse that feels different year after year since, after all, "thats where all their effort is". But all I ever notice is just more card preorder promos and more ways to get cards, etc. And they use these modes for esports. But I never got the sense a lot is changing in the modes themselves. Am I missing something? I dont see "effort" in UT modes either.
i don’t play MUT so I have no idea. They don’t even bother fixing some bugs in franchise mode. I’d imagine they fix them in MuT to keep the money coming.
This is true. Can’t speak to Madden but FIFA gameplay probably wouldn’t qualify as “good” since FIFA 17 that came out in Fall 2016
That $70 goes a lot farther for replay ability than madden, the show, or fifa imo. Still get your point though
this is a good post. its not that ea focuses all their time and effort on UT, its that literally nothing has been improved over the last 8 years. and honestly the biggest problem with the game isnt UT its frostbite. until that changes the game physics will always be ass. it was never a sports engine and shouldnt have been forced to be one.
This ^ Game physics being ass + the over reliance on animation sequences makes the gameplay totally unrealistic
The worst part is that the animation sequences make it hard to use the sliders to fix the gameplay. Pass defense is horrid to the point where it's more fun to just play offense only in franchise, but if you fuck with the sliders to try tweak it, you get weird animations and the game feels broken.
i'll save you all some time...this is a bunch of nothing except confirming the use of the (trash) madden engine.
My brother, it can be a remake of the original tecmo bowl and I’m still gonna dish out $700 for a new console and that game.
All major sports games are bad video games right now, but the need for sports gaming is so great it doesn’t matter they still turn profit
